Psh, it’s so much more common now because of babies needing to sleep on their backs! Don’t feel bad. My little one has torticollis and I felt like I was such a bad Mom at first and thought it was my fault but her physical therapist said it was common and a lot of Moms aren’t even aware they’re causing it. I was feeding her to one side every time (bottle feed) and I guessed it caused a creak in her neck.
You’re not a bad mom! A lot of babies need helmets because of the new recommendation to have them sleep on their backs. My son needed one because he had torticollis. It was so very worth it! Message me anytime.
Haha oh wow, I just said pretty much the same thing. You’re the only person I know who’s baby had torticollis. How old was she when you found out she had it?
@myriahboyett710, That’s so weird! I don’t really know anyone else either. We found out around 3 months. They said he was born with it likely due to positioning in the womb. Then he was in physical therapy until 8 months old. He had a helmet from 4 months to 6 months old. Now he’s 3 and doing amazing! How old was your little when you found out?
@aengs2, well, I started noticing it around 3 months and fat her 4 month check up they confirmed it. We finally have her a physical therapist at 5 months almost 6. They almost didn’t accept us because she said we had pretty much corrected it ourselves, thankfully. We’ve just been doing neck exercises with her.
It’ll be ok! Don’t give up just keep doing what you are doing!

her pediatrician said at 3 months it's kind of normal because she cant quite move her head to really get off of it and it's been 2 months with constant tummy time, Walker, jumper, holding, just a bunch of stuff to get her off the back of her head and he said it still looks really flat...
Bad mom? Get out of here with that nonsense! Girl, you are an amazing mom to that beautiful baby girl. It’s very common thing and can be an easy fix.
