My parents do this at thanksgiving for my grandma. We aren't even remotely close to Israeli. She just likes chopped up olives mixed in cream cheese and we serve it in celery.

My husband is turkish and we eat any cheeses with olives yumm feta or cream cheese mostly
i make a cream cheese ball & put beef ( lunchmeat ) & olives on it : its ammmazing !
I didn’t know this was an actual thing...but I’ve always ate green olives with cream cheese...I could probably eat anything covered in cream cheese tbh LOL 😂
