How do you guys handle your child’s tantrum? And what do you guys do about it? Only for people with kids 2 years and younger 😔 I’m losing my mind
Depends on the type of tantrum. If he’s having a meltdown for no reason or no reason that I know of. I comfort him and tell him it’s ok. I’m getting myself in the habit of asking him what’s wrong even though he can’t answer me yet just so it’s automatically my response later down the road. If he’s throwing a fit because I won’t let him have something or I take something away from him I just ignore him until he calms down.
I first offer comfort, if that doesnt work I ignore it or walk out of the room hes in. Walking out of the room seems to work cause he will stop instantly
Offer comfort. If that doesn’t work place him in a safe place and let him just throw it. He can’t express his emotions properly and it’s just frustrating to him. He’ll figure it out soon enough
it’s my daughter lol I don’t have a “he” but thank you. I actually ignored her and it worked! I hope it keeps working honestly but everything gets old quick for her
I offer comfort - a hug, soothing words - first. If he isn't receptive to it then as long as he isn't in a position to hurt himself I ignore while occasionally offering comforting words. But continue to be available the instant he reaches out to me for physical comfort like a hug.
My stance is that he's experiencing something that he doesn't know how to express properly yet. My kiddo also can't talk yet but he understands words so it adds to his frustration I'm sure.
Thank you! I usually offer to hug her and she won’t want to or I’ll see if she’s thirsty or hungry and she won’t be. She wanted to go outside so I just ignored her but she was screaming bloody murder. And every minute, I’d ask if she wanted something so she knows I’m there for her, I just hate hearing her scream but I know I can’t give in :/ it’s hard
I ignored it to a certain extent. My son will bang his head against the floor or wall. So once it begins to be like that, I intervene and try to calm him down.
Oh thank god my daughter hasn’t started that. Shes more of a “I’ll scream till my vocal chords get damaged” lol
lol oh nope, my son wil scream and cry and run around and if you aren’t paying attention he’ll fall on the floor and hit his head it’s ridiculous
I have a 3 yr old . I usually found that it was because he was hungry thirsty or tired. So I’d offer food or drink and if that didn’t work and it was around nap time I’d put him to bed
Yeah my daughter was throwing a tantrum cause she wanted to go outside where it’s freezing. I made sure she didn’t need anything so I just put her in “time out” lol
Ignore it . He’ll literally hit me crying following me around and eventually realizes I’m not going to give in and then hugs me and kisses me . That’s all we can really do at a young age . I’ll try to talk to him first and say we don’t do that etc but if it doesn’t work then I just ignore him.
I talk to her and try to calm her down but it only works for a period of time and then she’s back at it :( ugh I’m sorry, things like this is tough! Good luck 💕

I did that 3 times today, and each time she’d calm down just to catch her breath and scream again -_- lol but it worked once! So I’m gonna keep trying
