How do you moms deal with accidents potty training? Leonel went poop for his first time on the toilet today. Said he was done I cleaned him up and then put on his underwear and after he took a Bigger poop in his underwear and peeped on my kitchen floor. 😩🤦🏻♀️
That’s exactly what I didn’t want is him to think I’m punishing him but after I clean him I do sit him on the potty while I clean the mess. And I was thinking to myself that’s kinda like a time out. That’s probably why he isn’t wanting to use the potty? 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😭 I try to sit him on the potty first thing when he wakes up while I cook. And a little after anything to drink or eat & before bed. But he doesn’t seem to be interested in it at all.
@leonelsmom., It’s all so confusing! Especially because every child is different. We did something similar, just kept putting our son on the potty at first. He had good and bad days. Some days he tried. Other days it seemed forced. But honestly, the best he has done is when we’ve just put him in undies and backed off. Now he just runs to the bathroom himself when he has to go. He still has accidents sometimes but he’s had enough accidents to know that he doesn’t like the way it feels when he pees himself. So he’s learning! It’s trial and error and you’ll have good days and bad days. Once he’s actually interested, it’ll just click for him though. I promise! We’ve been told that many times but it took firsthand experience to really understand it. Just keep offering positive guidance and support. It’s all you really can do. Keep up the good work!
I never say “it’s okay” instead I say “oops! Poop and pee go in the potty, let’s get you cleaned up”. Accidents will happen, they’re still learning. Just don’t give it negative attention and they’ll come along.
@leonelsmom., It’s not easy! Just be consistent and patient ☺️
Mommas I need advice. Kynton gets a super bad rash when he poops. From one poop and maybe 45 seconds of him being in that diaper turns his butt bright red and blisters. We only use Huggies and Pampers diapers. Could it be disposables that do this? The gel stuff mixing with his poop that creates the rash?? And should I try a few cloths to see if it helps? Or what do I do. He poops at least 2 times if not sometimes more a day. And it puts him in agonising pain. His Drs said don't worry but his Boo...
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Need some serious tips on potty training! Walker knows when he pees and poops but when i have his diaper off he just pees wherever and then wants his diaper back on 🙃
Outrageous!
A 5 year old was detained and questioned at his school for taking a toy gun to show his friend. He was so scared he wet his pants and his parents weren't notified until 2 hours into the questioning. He was suspended for 10 days, but it was reduced to the 3 days he had already served after the parents and others complained. The school stated that the situation was handled appropriately and would be handled in a similar manner in the future.
I handle it very calmly. I say:
“Uh oh, looks like we had an accident. That’s okay. Accidents happen. Let’s clean this up and get you some new clothes. Then we can try again.”
Some parents get mad or frustrated. I try my hardest not to. I don’t ever want my children to be afraid to tell me things. I want to be their safe space.
