Anyone ever tried co parenting instead of a relationship? I'm done with the whole relationship poop and I've been asked by a male friend to have a co parent relationship. So a relationship just literally to have a baby with them and just co parent ? Idk what to do

I don’t see the problem if I’m honest 🤷🏼♀️ lots of women go to sperm donors, there are parents who adopt and their adoptive parents are still involved etc.. you would both love the baby. Co-parenting is just as effective as parenting together in some scenarios. I know a lady who’s done this with one of her old friends as they both wanted children. It’s worked out fine for them.
It’s your life, if you think it’s sensible and it could work, who is anyone else to judge🤷🏼♀️

I didn't actually say I'd do it! I'm just exploring options for down the line.

Cray Cray that I'd consider helping a best friend who I've known for 15 years. Yeah suppose I am.

Nope. I'd not even consider it. It would be hard enough co parenting with someone you'd been in a relationship with, never mind someone who's a friend. There's going to be all sorts of issues that arise.

No no no, look how complicated it gets sometimes between people who have been in a relationship. The kids get put in the middle of a war zone, this person is just your friend. You don’t know them inside out, they don’t know you inside out. It just sounds like it would get complicated. Lines would get crossed. Xx

Yeh it's one thing to have ended a relationship that isn't working and co-parent. Than to have a baby with someone just to have a baby. Your son is your number one priority. I don't see how adding another child in an unusual circumstance would benefit anyone. But that's me!

I personally wouldn't do it either,
It just don't seem right!
If a relationship had broken down then I see the reason to co parent but don't just have a baby with a lad to have a baby there's more to it, such as checking he's got nothing to pass on to you or baby! Then when baby's born will he be helping or whatever and will baby be staying with the "dad" it'll get really messy I think

Wait... so have a baby with someone but never actually be together? I think it's one thing if you're in a relationship, have a baby and then break up and co parent, that's great... but having a baby with someone you're not a relationship with is just going to get messy and potentially confusing for the child. I personally wouldn't do it x
