Anyone make their own bread in a bread maker? I pulled mine out after not using it for a couple of years & the two loaves that I’ve tried making have failed. I followed the same recipe and process that I’ve always done, but with new flour. Any tips or recipes anyone is willing to share??

....following...for the record I saw the above picture @ek_ and my bread ALWAYS comes out like that! I had no clue it was wrong 😂

I use bread pans in the oven. I never liked how dense my bread maker loaves were.

I have under kneaded before and once have had my yeast die on me from water being too hot so always use a thermometer for that. My bread seems to come out on the heavier side so maybe it is due to under kneading or crap rising.

I would love to get a dutch oven for crispy bread making. I currently do not have a bread maker.

It’s been awhile but I occasionally do. Was your yeast brand new or was it sitting awhile? Did the loaves not rise well? I really like the premix Krusteaz mixes personally. The bread is yummy and there’s a million different kinds.

@squishymommy1, maybe it’s too much gluten action. There’s also cake flour? But that’s super light. It would probably go weird too.

Bakers! When making bread do you HAVE let it double before you punch it down and split it?
