Thoughts? Ok so while watching this is us finale there was a convo between Kevin and Tess. Now I know the show is written but this convo really struck a nerve. She said she didn’t really know who she was. He said that’s normal and that u really don’t know who u are until you’re much older. He said each big moment in life added new parts of him. I thought it was a great analogy for life ya know? Like at 37 right now I know who I am but certainly didn’t for a long time. I am who I am. I got a new shirt this week that reads “grit and grace” which I feel like the shirt was made for me. So what are your thoughts on this subject? Do u find that to be true?

No one???? Come on!! Really wanna talk about this!!
Yo mama·
I feel like I struggle with knowing who I am outside of a mother and wife. All but 1 of my personal achievements are based around that.

yes I’ve felt that before too. It’s hard not to as a mother because we are supposed to give and give and never think twice about ourselves!! But it’s time we do. We are the backbone of the family and if we collapse they will as well. I’m much older then u so u have time dear!! U will get there. Just think of one thing the u and only u like and look into that. If it’s reading, working out anything. Do it for u!!

it’s hard not to lose yourself when you’re a mother. Everything is done for the family at that time. Especially being a sahm. Everything revolves around the kids schedules and what not. It will also happen for u one day. Again I’m much older haha

I struggled for a long time to know who i eas and even now there are moments where i feel lost. I think people let yheir roles in life define who they are but that's not the case. I am more then my role as a mother or my job or my status as girlfriend. Who I am can't be defined by those things because who I am is all encompassing.

Yaaasss Queen!! Totally true!! We shouldn’t be defined by what we do but who we are as people. As a woman in today’s world!!

I am only 28 and have been thru a lot that most people haven’t had to deal with. And I think those experiences have molded me and made me into the person I am today. Although it is hard to distinguish myself as anything other than mom and wife I still feel like I am getting to know myself better and my thinking changes with all experiences

Yea that’s what I’m saying. Everything that happens in our lives mold us and change us into the people we are!
