For those of you who had gestational diabetes and have taken the postpartum glucose test, how was it? I’m kind of freaking out about it and I’ve been avoiding getting it done. I’m 16 weeks postpartum 🤦🏻‍♀️. I know shame on me for not doing it. I’m just scared of actually developing type 2 diabetes. For those of you who have taken it did you develop type 2 at 6 weeks? Or later on like years down the road? My endocrinologist said to test my sugar a couple times after meals and that as long as it’s below 180 that I don’t have it, but that just seems really high. Any words of encouragement. Or stories you have(good or bad) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

How has it been getting the diagnosis? I mean at this point I know there isn’t much I can do to prevent it besides exercise and eating right. Do you have to test 4 times a day still? I think I’m just working it up in my head to be worse than it really is.

It was the same test just 2 hours for me. I passed but I have to be careful because I’m pre diabetic. If you continue to eat right and take care of yourself I think you should be fine. I do think you should get it over with to calm your nerves.

That’s what I keep telling myself is to just do it and be done with it. I’ve tested my blood sugar at home after a couple meals and it was in the 90’s-low 100’s. So I should be okay. My husband works nights and doesn’t get home until 8 in the morning so I keep using that as an excuse because he needs to sleep. Lol did you fast for this one? They didn’t say if I needed to or not, I just kind of assumed I should.

@steganmewart, I understand. My husband works nights so I try to do things while he’s still awake and has the momentum. I’m not a breakfast lover so I always end up skipping it. Lol if you’re hungry I would do eggs or some protein.
