TLDR- Has your part-time kid been kicked out of daycare in favour of another child whose parents want them in full-time? Mine might.
Behold my novel:
My son might lose his spot after 4 months because the other kid’s parents we share the pt contract with want him to go to full time. We signed up at the same time, 2 days each. That wouldn’t have been such an issue, but the provider also just signed up her sister’s kid (12mo) and that kid ain’t gettin’ booted. As of now, everything is fine, and she plans to run it and ‘see how things go’ with my son as the extra kid after april.
I’m so pissed off for him. I went to talk to her, and apparently the other mom has no idea my son might get kicked out, even though I practically begged the provider to find a compromise with her. How did they not know they’d need full time 4 months ago? And why should my child be the one to pay the price when we didn’t change the terms of our contract? After 3 months of horrible drop offs, he’s doing so well and the thought of putting him through that again makes my feel sick. The only reason we did it is because we thought this would be a long-term relationship.
Even though things can stay more or less the same atm, I have to think about how I feel about having one too many kids on the days he’s there.
Ugh.
