My boss has been slowly cutting my hours back. So this week I work TWO DAYS and she is refusing to give me the full schedule for the month yet I think everyone else has it? She just said "I put you on for two days this week. 4 hr shifts each..let me know how you're feeling." I think its because the pregnancy? I had a fall but I've been fine and nothing in regards to what I do at work has changed. I'm not sure how its legal... what if she fires me this week..I'm so confused??

Same thing happened to me once I got pregnant. They took my lead teacher position, made me a floater (not even assistant teacher, but a freaking floater), cut my hours, and even had me coming in at crazy times -no set shift really. I was pissed. They kept me in the toughest room that I asked not to be in because there were difficult kids there and I was even hit in the stomach a few times in that room. It was too much for me so I eventually left at like 6 Months. I was going to leave at 7 Months anyways because I was moving, but I believe they do things like that to get you to quit. I doubt they will fire you because they hate dealing with unemployment and I’m sure they don’t want you to be able to collect it. That’s a plus for being fired though, you can get that. It doesn’t sound like they have maternity leave, which neither did my job so getting unemployment would’ve been the next best thing for me. So if they don’t have maternity leave, stick it out or read in your handbook for your rights. There is a law against pregnancy discrimination. Look it up and see if you fall under it. But I tried to get as much money as I could before I left to save up for baby and our needs. The only reason I left earlier than I planned is because I was putting my baby in jeopardy because of being hit a couple times and having to literally pick some of the kids up at times. If that weren’t the case I would’ve stayed longer and I know it would eat at them because you still have to pay me and you’re not getting me to back down. My baby was more important than their petty games. If they’re not going to play fair then you do your research and beat them at their own game!

Document all conversations with her and instances where you’re being treated differently than other employees (like with getting the schedule in advance). How long have you worked there?

I work tomorrow so I'll see if she's posted the schedule. It's just crazy she can do that and act like everything is fine.

Told her yesterday I'm more than capable of working two 4 hr shifts.

I’d report her. Especially if you’re the only one losing that many hours. Fuck that shit. Seems like she wants you to quit.

Exactly I think she's pushing me to quit but I'll stick it out lol 🤷♀️

They can make changes to your schedule as long as you're made aware, which she has done.
Although it may suck I'd take it as a good thing. Some jobs don't like to accommodate to pregnancies even with doctors notes.
I think she's just looking out for you since your fall. Seeing how well you do this week and maybe add a day or hours next week.

She's not like that lol, something is going on. From 32 hrs a week to 8? When I've told her multiple times I'm fine. It's in my job description as well as agreement I'm guaranteed 25 hours. She's a very behind your back type of person.

awhhhhh. Well if you're supposed to have at least 25hrs, I'd contact a higher up.
