Okay mamas I have some questions.
Okay mamas I have some questions.
My little one is 10 weeks. The first 3 weeks I was breastfeeding and she seemed really fussy and her poop was mucousy and acidic which was making her have a diaper rash. The pediatrician suspected a milk protein allergy and out her on alimentium formula. She has been on the formula ever since and her poops have gotten better and is less fussy. She has been on it for about a month and a half. Now they are considering her failure to thrive because she isn’t gaining the amount of weight they would like her too. She has never lost weight but averages about 1/2 ounce weight gain a day. She was born at 6 pounds 8 ounces and now weighs 9 pounds 5 ounces. She eats between 18-21 ounces per 24 hour period. She is so smiley, recognizes faces and sounds, kicks her legs like crazy, holds her head up and grabs on to things. She is very active. I started adding a half a scoop extra of her formula per water recommendations to give her some extra calories. She did have a mucousy stool today for the first time in awhile. I am just really worried that something is wrong with her because she’s not gaining the “appropriate” amount that they want her too. Has anyone else’s little one experienced this? Or have had a slower weight gain and been perfectly fine and healthy? Please help!!’

Мама сына (2 года)
My nephew was born at almost ten pounds. By 4 months he was only about 12 lbs. He fell off the growth chart, but my sister never said he was "failure to thrive" He had severe reflux though so that may be why, since they knew his issue. They tried so many formulas that I forget them all. They even tested him for a blockage since he would vomit so spectacularly. A mix of some special formula I forget and the reflux meds helped some. He turned two in January and while he's still on the lighter side, he's completely fine.
Second opinions are always a good idea, but even if she does get FTT, it doesn't mean anything is necessarily wrong, just that she's a slow gainer. She's not losing, like my nephew was for a while, so that's good!

Мама дочки (1 год), беременна (39 нед.)
My little one was also at alimentum. That was heaven sent for us. She was practically a brand new baby. As far as her height and weight, she had always been on the low end. She eats like crazy, but barely gains any weight.
You can always ask for a second opinion from anothe pediatrician if you think your baby is doing well.

Мама дочки-младенца
My baby was born at 40 weeks. She is in the 3rd percentile for weight right now. I’m just so worried!!! All her newborn screenings came back normal. What is something is wrong with her? 😭😭

Мама троих детей
Yes my middle child she was born at 36 weeks and was 6lbs 11oz and took her over two to three weeks to gain up to 7lb and now she is 2 and is only 20lb she is happy as can be and eats everything in sight and still does not gain weight i think its because she has a higher metabolism. She has always been in like the 10 to 15 percentile in height weight for her age.
