Switching to formula.
My 6month old baby girl had her check up today and she hasn't gained any weight since her last appointment at 4mo. Doctor told me to switch to formula and give her more solids during the day. I'm gonna do it. Any advices on how to switch, I don't wanna use bottles.. any recommendations?
She breastfeeds to sleep .. what should I do now? I'm so sad :( because of the weight.
Why can’t you just supplement? That seems like a rash choice to just stop altogether? I don’t produce much these days but love the bond that comes with nursing. So I let her nurse first then top her off with formula. I follow her hunger cues.
Because she hasn't gained any weight with my breastmilk :( doctor is really concerned. We began solids at 4mos too..
My daughter was having the hardest time gaining weight because of my breast milk. So I decided to supplement with formula, and it helped. I was on the Similac sensitive and she gained weight within the first 3 weeks of doing that :) you don’t have to completely switch over, but you can supplement
I have to supplement with formula. We use Similac pro advance. He has gained 3 pounds since birth.I was going to stop as well I was getting very discouraged because I was producing enough from when we first born and then he started drinking 4 oz every 2 hours so now he drinks way more formula than breast milk. But hey at least he is getting some and I still get to keep that bond.
