Anyone do Uber ? My husband wants to try it out ...

I just started made 4 deliveries on uber eats and made 40.00 in 3 hrs

I would recommend that he knows when and were to sit and wait on trips. If I’m logged into lyft I know that if I sit in our mall area, close to the interstate ramps that can take me to 4 different cities, I’ll always get trips. I know what days and times are busy even if the app says otherwise. I know that on club nights, concerts, nye we are busy. I know that for lyft drivers in my area, week nights are busier than weekends. So tell him feel it out and figure out what works best.

I drive for lyft. I’ve always made really good money. Enough I had quite my full time job just to drive. I networked and gained my own passengers that I drive for off of the app and on a regular. Now I’ll log into lyft periodically especially if they have some time of bonus going on. I make enough to support myself and two kids comfortably. It works for me because I’m a single mom and I can work around my kids schedule and bring them when I need to. I set my own schedule and determine how much I want to work. Some days I’m super busy and other days I turn down trips because I have other things going on. I file taxes as self employed and can deduct expenses like my car, gas, phone.

Any big events like ball games are good nights to work. Club nights are also good. Dh used to it years back and made 1500$ on New Year’s Eve and another 500$ on New Year’s Day.

If you use uber you can not use your "personal auto insurance as coverage" you must get "business insurance".

You can also claim the expenses on your tax returns😊

I know alot of people who do it as a side job and can make good money when there are events happing but other then that thats all i know my husband just started the other night for a couple hours and got 40 bucks he also did it like really late at night just to see what it was all about and how to do it. I know he can make more on the weekends here and event coming up soon so I know he'll bank then

If you drive for a rideshare, don't you also have to have your car inspected every 30 days or something? Not sure what that costs but my Lyft driver told me that.

I did when it first came out and then like a year or so ago I did that and lyft. It's fun and easy. Just driving lol and you meet interesting people.

I will say that the pay varies. If you live in a big city, you can make a lot. A smaller one, could be a hit or miss depending on what times you drive and the demand.

The last time I did it, I drove like a few hours on the weekend nights in DC and made $500-600. I loved that!

But there are things to consider.. Like wear and tear on your car. (To include car washes /details because people can be rowdy and drunk 🤮)

I'd say definitely invest in some car seat covers and mats and kick guards lol just protect your car as much as possible! 😊
