I have a question about about speech therapy!
*I got the green light from our Pedi to start my LO in S.T
I was just wondering if, speech therapy is ran through insurance first and whatever wasn’t covered I would be responsible for? Is that how that works? Do they charge per hour or per visit? When you sign up is there a certain amount of times they need to be seen, like a full course? Or can you stop at any time?

@keeks89, ahhh I’m going to call to see if it’s covered! I’m a SAHM but he makes decent money too, at what point does one not qualify for state coverage, do you know?
@girlymamaa, my kids destroyed the paper but they will set up a whole meeting with you going over the income requirements but I feel like you’ll be ok especially if we qualified because I was quit shocked myself

My dr first set it up outside s.t., it was considered special dr so every visit had to pay the high copay 60$ instead of 40$. I started to get my son into the earlier 4s program, and they do speech there so he gets speech now for free. The speech teacher also did an i.e.p for my youngest so on wed every wk I take her to her appt at the school. Only reason not charged is cause we don’t have Medicaid
If she is under 3 look into early intervention programs in your area first.
She just turned 2, that’s who I’m setting it up... Early Intervention, I was just wondering how I would be charged for it

Yes, normally its ran through your insurance first. I'm not sure how they charge, I'm guessing per visit. You can decide to stop it anytime, however they will reccomend you continue until it is no longer needed for you child based on their progress.
Our insurance covers so many visits and how long but we went through the school district and got my son in their early preschool program. It might be worth looking into in your area. If you are going through insurance, it’s best to call and find out what’s covered.

Insurance covered my daughter's through the school. She is on Medicaid though.
Her times and amount has changed because of what was needed.
If you feel like there isn't improvement than you do have the right to stop.
@nerdymommyplus2, ooooh!! I see what you’re saying. Thank you for your tips! I’ll look into Helping Hands.. right now, her doctor just gave me the number to Early Intervention, and that’s who is going to call me to set it all up at 3pm but I just wanted some clear answers. Thanks!

It's a type of early intervention. Might be called something else based on states

At what age/point do you consider speech therapy? My step daughter is 3 years old and I feel like she is behind in the speech department. She mumbles and babbles more than she actually says clear understandable words. 80% of the time we don’t understand what she’s saying. My daughter is 2 months older than her and she’s very advanced so I don’t have anything to compare (I know you can’t compare kids)

Did any of you tried acupuncture ? I was wondering if it really helps with getting pregnant. I was pregnant 4 times but each time something went wrong. At this point I'm willing to try anything.
You should look into early intervention programs through your state. For us it was based on a sliding scale (income) we get speech and therapy for free up until the age of three and then he will be transferred into and iep program which will continue to work with him throughout the years
