Working with 4 infants less than 6 months today.. Wish me luck.. First time being maxed out as an infant teacher.
You can do it!!! It's not too bad once you get the hang of things. Just remember to breathe haha. I loved the infant room. The little ones are my absolute favorite to work with.
My center was naeyc accredited somehow but they’d push it to state so there were times I had 6 kids alone in infants or it’d be me and one other person with 12 kids. It’s the reason why I left. They’d make me lie to parents that we adhered to naeyc but it really only applied for maybe 2 hours out of the day
The state rule for infants is 1 to 4 there probably were trying to safe money the wrong way and not paying another teachers.
They do not charge me for daughter but I am also getting payed close to nothing and soon will get workforce solutions to cover her tuition as i am a single m9m and based on my income.
Yes in the state of texas the max you can have is 4 infants per teacher.
@claudiamarsh18 wow that crazy. Here the max is 3, but only if one is walking. Theory is if there's a fire, you have to be able to safely bring all children out at once.
I was Infant teacher. I had 4 also...decades ago! It’s not too bad once you get a routine going. Good luck!
