What is an appropriate age for girls to shave thier legs ? My 9yrs old have some hair but its light colored and she has asked me if she can take it out because she doesnt want to go to school with her hair showing ,:/ what do I do ? It's like very light

I was 18 and it was around the time I had my first boyfriend - but all of this is because my parents always said no. I dont have a daughter, but I feel like working WITH her might be a good way to maintain a trusting relationship? I feel silly my parents never let me do it, there were times in high school where I felt weird and left out because of it.

I say when you start seeing it not like see it but light like it's long and hairy lol my mom only shaves to her knees always have. Nearly any hair above.
I don’t trust nair* it like melts your hair off. Can’t be good to have that on your skin.
I was like 10-11. I know it was summer after 5th grade or possibly the summer before 5th grade. But I don’t think 9 is way too young it depends on her maturity level and honestly shaving isn’t “that” big of a deal.

My sister would shave my legs and under arms for me. We would always get in trouble for it. But it was well worth the grounding. Especially because I never wanted to wear cut off’s or short sleeves. Because of the hair. I never wanted to go swimming, It was more a punishment than fun.

@verguinia, Some nair have a little razors with them. They have no blade but she’ll get the hang of using a razor that way.
I started shaving at 10. If she’s embarrassed by it, I’d go ahead and teach her.
Honestly. I would teach her how to shave. I have thick black hair and my mom didn’t let me shave till I was older. I used to get teased and it was quite embarrassing. My husband and I talked about this for our daughter. When she gets her hair and inquires about shaving I will teach her. I’ll NEVER want to subject my daughter to being teased because of something that’s controllable. I know she will probably get hair at a young because her father and I are both hairy.
Oh course I’ll try Nair or And she is older I’ll do body sugaring.

Before I could shave I would put baby oil on them. It helps hide the blonde hairs. I could start actually shaving when I was 12.

My niece is 12 and recently started shaving i think once girls are shy about it , at the appropriate age then you should let her , if it’ll make her feel better then why not ?
What's the best method I was thinking to give her the creme and just wipe it off
@verguinia, i honestly would just teach her to shave but before that i would tel her that once she starts - she has to ALWAYS do it because it’ll be uncomfortabl for her when it grows back prickly ... maybe she’ll get turned off of the idea . I mean it’s also a nice bonding moment for mom and daughter . If you use the cream them teach her that way - if you use a shaver then teach her carefully how to handle it , I’m sure it’ll work out just fine !
That's what I thought but then again I dont remember ever shaving I just had long pants all the time my parents didnt really let me shave
@verguinia, all girls are different, i got my period at almost 14 lol but my older sister got hers at 12 and youngest at 10. I feel like 12 is a good age to shave though, because you don’t want her starting to young. Are they really noticeable?
@denisse.m sounds good not to me she has light hair and it's very thin hair on her legs and light and wow I got mine 5th grade durring school.
@verguinia, aw, i would wait but that’s just me. If you feel like she’s giving you a fight about it than maybe do it once for her, it’ll take a little long to grow also since it’ll be her first time
