So I had tanf for one month way back when lol they went after my oldest child’s dad of course and I get $170 a month in child support. Is that normal for one child? Just unsure. 
Idk if it’s calculated differently that way than through court or if it’s all the same? Idk if the amount would change if I went through court and if it’s even worth making a court date over.
Anyone?
We went once to court for child support and custody but he said he’d give me full custody if I dropped child support so I did 🤦🏻‍♀️

I just know here in courts they go by income. 170 better then nothing but it wouldn't hurt to have more of he has a good job. I know girls who the men don't work so they only $20 a month for a child. If he has a good paying job I'd go and try to shoot for more. We have my step daughter and could get child support but we aren't even going to go through it we have no desire too.

Idk about his job honestly. We don’t talk at all. I know he has one and just got a new one not long ago. I don’t wanna bother with it honestly cause he’s girlfriend has made comments about how I keep my daughter from him and I just get off on the “single mother” attention and I’m not about to deal with the drama she’s gonna being. I just got rid of drama, don’t want it back. They’ve been together for a while now, she should see first hand I do not keep her from him, he makes his own choices. I just see it as drama coming if I file but, it would help of course. So idk. I don’t know how to determine if I’d get more or not before even filing. If I knew, I’d go for it but I don’t lol

Yes. It’s sad but I don’t say anything. Last time we spoke he said he wanted to start seeing her every other weekend, that was in October, and I agreed and never heard about it or from him again but he can travel hours away for his friends childs birthday party 😂 I only know because I’m a mutual friend of theirs and saw pictures. Still. It’s a weird situation. Idk why he does it.

@twistedrenots I really wish the worst on ppl who do they kids like that I’m sorry ur daughter does not deserve this and for him to be going over oceans for others kids and not his own really is crazy! But karma will get him and see if u can get more money since he’s not doing anything at all! I also know how it feels to get mistreated that’s how I felt with my parents they always treated my sister better horrible feeling

It goes by your income.  If you don't work then it's based off of the min wages in your town.  I used to get 62.40 a wk for 1 kid

The amount that their ordered to pay goes by their income. I get $291 and that was ordered when he didn’t have a job. 
I could take him back for more but I’m not worried about it. 
My brother paid almost $400 for one and after they took it out of his check he only brought home like $200.

Yeah see I don’t wanna take all his money. He has another child he actually cares for 🤦🏻‍♀️ and I don’t wanna take away from him. But my kid has needs to. If he had a relationship with her I might feel a little differently about it but he doesn’t.

@twistedrenots, Tinleys dad isn’t in her life and hasn’t been around since I was 20wks pregnant. He also has another child that’s around 6-7 months old that he cares for. 
He lives in a completely different state.

I’m not sure how its calculated or anything. I was shocked when they ordered him to pay $291 with no income at the time.

I should mention he hasn’t seen her in 9 months, hasn’t asked about her in 5 months. 
He has zero relationship with her and I think it’s only fair he helps in some way. 🤷🏻‍♀️
