Has anyone else had period type pains in their second trimester? I’ve had them for a couple of days? Im still exhausted, still feel VERY sick, had no bleeding or spotting but the period type pains are defiantly there.
I can’t get hold of my midwife and triage won’t touch me with me not being 16 weeks pregnant...

@jessicabecksx, yeah, they are just dull like period pains. I’m not crippled, I don’t feel like I need to take paracetamol for them. I’m just SO SO SO paranoid after my miscarriage last time, I’ve scared myself shitless from what I’ve read on google and my friend had a missed miscarriage a few weeks ago and I’m worrying that’s going to be me. I know I can’t help it if it is but my anxiety is through the roof xxx

@catherineln25, google is a no go!🙈it will put all sorts into your head! Sometimes those kind of pains are normal as baby grows and your uterus stretches I don’t blame you for being paranoid after what you’ve gone through in the past but try and think positive! Have you had your 12 week scan?xxx

@jessicabecksx, I’ve not had my 12 week scan but I had an abdominal scan 4 weeks ago and she let us have a look at baby. Everything was ok she said. It’s hard though as baby was fine at all my scans when I had my miscarriage. My sickness hasn’t been bad today at all or my nausea, I’m tired and my boobs are sore plus I’ve had some heartburn but I don’t feel “pregnant” much so my minds going wild! The out of hours GP said as I’m not bleeding or cramping anymore they won’t scan be early. So I have to wait till Thursday xxxx

I've had these kind of pains throughout this pregnancy, at the beginning I did have spotting so I worried like hell due to a MC before.
But after speaking to a midwife they reassured me that it may well just be round ligament pain, stretching due to previous pregnancy's and the body knowing what to do so it does it earlier.
All the other symptoms such as feeling sick and being exhausted is also a good sign. Try to take it easy, relax and have a bath try ease the pains.
If in doubt go to A&E, they have a duty to see you and cannot turn you away. Epu wouldn't see me unless it was severe pain or heavy bleeding. But in previous pregnancy's I've had to go to A&E to be seen. X

I’ve had really bad experiences with the EPU before. They told me last time I wasn’t having a miscarriage and an hour after getting home I was rushed into hospital extremely poorly. They are only dull pains but I have been on google all afternoon so I’ve absolutely scared myself rotten. I’ve got a scan booked in on Thursday and I’m going out of my mind with worry 😔😔. I think I may ring my midwife on Monday and see what she says. They are only dull pains not the type that stops me from doing anything I’m just very conscious of them being there xx

I think it’s the fact I’m not being as sick, I feel sick but I’m not being sick anymore and now these pains have started. My mum said the pains weren’t bad enough to be seen in A&E so I’m just holding out to speak to my midwife on Monday. Petrified for my scan on Thursday!xxx

Were they exactly like period pains? I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks before having my little girl so I’m absolutely petrified! Xx
So I keep feeling these lil sharp pains on my right side. You do get pains like that before you start your period right.? Remember I had that dark brown spotting for a few hours last month on the 22. My period suppose to start today.

Thank you ladies for all the lovely messages today. I’ve never experienced bleeding in my other pregnancies so I’ve been very worried. It’s only a small amount of blood but enough so scare me. I’ve had period type pains all day. As usual my wonderful husband has been amazing calming me down and looking after me. Booked in for a scan at 10:40 tomorrow so please send me your positive vibes!! Xxx

I went to a&e the other day and then they transferred me up to somewhere else?, maybe they’d do that with you hun?xxx
