Thanks ladies! I think I will get a new car seat. I did not know about expiration dates.

If it comes from a family member or trusted friend. Than I will. If not then no. I refused to buy used furniture too unless I know the person its coming from 🤷

Our crib is secondhand - saved us lots of money and is from a trusted friend. Car seats we get new.

Yeah please don't buy a used car seat we got into an accident and had to get a new carseat. I wouldn't risk it! But other things yes I would and have

I personally would not purchase a used carseat because i don’t know how previous owners took care of it.

Although i have sold one. Ours was well loved and taken care of. No accidents. And still had 5 years left before expiring. I even took apart the covers to show that everything was intact. No dents, scratches or anything. We are also a smoke and pet free home. I had all the paperworks for it, tags, manual, and it was registered incase if it ever gets recalled.

My 2nd pregnancy I wasnt fortunate enough to buy new clothes or a carseat for my son so I was given a carseat from a church, new clothes from a public baby shower and hand me down clothes from a friend..nothing is wrong with used items just clean them and make sure they're still good enough to use

Please don’t buy a used car seat. It could’ve been in an accident or damaged in some other way. The straps could’ve been washed making the flame retardant ineffective in a car fire. The frame or base could be warped or bent making it wobbly or unstable in a high speed accident. It could be expired with outdated safety enhancements and applications. You never know... Clothes, cribs, tubs etc have at it. ☺️

Technically here your not allowed to sell used car seats, so I’d surely not buy one.

But other stuff I don’t see why not!

I sold our pack n play. I advertised it was always stored inside (no garage), smoke & pet free. It was perfectly nice. I had the manual as well.

Nope. Only if it was used by an older sibling and was still in good condition.

I would never buy a used car seat. A lot of used ones are expired or close to expiring, and you can’t verify that they’ve been cared for properly or never involved in an accident.
