Idk how much longer I can put up with my bf not liking that I have friends. He’s the one who insisted I get out and see them, so now that I am, he’s upset. I spent 6 MONTHS trapped in this apartment only seeing him & his family/friends, I deserve this. 😪 idk what to do. It’s even a battle to see my own family. Any time I mention my mom wanting to see me he gets annoyed. Why?! & if I ask him he tries to play it off like he isn’t mad.

Because up until now I haven’t made effort to see my friends, I’ve been out of a job so I’ve been too embarrassed to make plans
@devyn.nichol, oh ok. Well I’d just make plans to see your family & friends when you want. You don’t need his permission.
That at least personally sends a huge red flag. Has he been controlling in other aspects as well or just wanting you to stay disconnected from your friends/family?
@devyn.nichol just a warning. Sometimes a manipulative personality starts out slowly in a relationship. Be careful or at the very least take charge and tell him. I WILL see my family, I WILL see my friends. He has no more or less of a right than yourself and id make that as clear as possible now.
@devyn.nichol if you ever need to talk feel free to PM. I'll keep you in my thoughts, just make sure to stand firm for yourself. You're a beautiful soon to be mom, you'll need your support group, and he needs to understand that. As much as I love my husband he will never understand quite as easily as a best friend or mother.
