heyo! health care professional here. I started out in the military as a trauma medic and everyone would swap me their burn cases because I had “the magic touch” lol. don’t use butter, coconut oil, or other greasy substances, while a little probably won’t hurt, and it’ll give a bit of temporary relief, you could end up giving yourself an infection or causing the pores underneath to clog and slow the healing process. please never use toothpaste! if you need instant relief it’s much better to do a bit of coconut oil (if you really have to). cool water is fine, but cold water or ice should be used very wisely if at all. diluted apple cider vinegar works magic! go for it. my recommendation though is to clean the wounds gently with some room temperature water, pat dry with a clean cloth, and apply some Neosporin and let the areas air out unless you have to cover with a bandage of some kind. sorry for the mom-ranting and I hope this helps!

Thank you! This actually helps.. I wasn't sure what to do so I put A&D, is cold water not good?that's the only thing that relieved the pain 😬

cold water is okay, but you’re just making your wound crave it more. if you need cooking relief, try putting a breathable bandage on it, then wrap an ice pack in a washcloth and let it sit on top like that.

Mint toothpaste. The mint slows the burning and cools down the skin
