After birth, do you suggest depends underwear or heavy duty pads? When I had my first the hospital provided me with some big pads & comfortable soft underwear but I want some for when we are back home & im debating which to go for this time, if I should try the depends or just get heavy duty pads.

Depends! They are more comfortable than pads.

@amouryaya09, That’s really good to know. You get a little more protection with the depends.

@mommyoftwolittleboys, yes but not super thin like mesh.

I’m assuming the depends feel like the cloth underwear the hospital provides, if so I loved them & that’s why I am aiming more towards depends.

I used both. I used the pads when I was at home and used the depends when we went out somewhere so I didn’t have to worry about bleeding through my clothes.

That’s a really smart idea! I like that. 😊

I used depends with both. So much simpler and less mess. I don’t even bleed much and still prefer them.

@mommyoftwolittleboys, I got a large. I was a size 6 or 8 before I got pregnant but I gain a lot when I’m pregnant. I bet I’m a 16 or so at the moment.

The tucks and dermoplast are a must. Lol

I think a size L will be the safest way for me too. I actually tried a pair of my old regular pants the other day to see if they would still go up on me & they did, only thing was I couldn’t buckle them of course lol. But I was happy to see they still fit, with my son I gained more weight. Do you use the depends day & night?

@mommyoftwolittleboys, I do yes. Just easier all around.

I used the depends active fit. They were so much more comfortable than the giant pads. I hate using any kind of pads. I didn’t bleed super heavily either.

I bought both. I wore depends during the day, and combined them at night, but I bled really heavy the first few weeks

Overnight pads for me

I used depends! I had too much to worry about with a newborn, leaky boobs, and a cesarean wound to be worried about possibly leaking out of underwear with pads. So I had to have everything that was convenient and long lasting!!

So this might sound weird or dumb but when you wear depends would you still wear a pad with it or no?

No pads

No pads since the depends kinda has like a pad already in it, it’s just more comfort & protects more.

I bought pads, but have seriously been thinking of buying some depends before I go in to have the baby on Wednesday.

I think you should. The hospital will provide you with some really comfortable soft underwear you dispose of but you can get yourself some depends for when you get back home. That’s what I’m planning on doing.

They sent me home with a good amount of mesh underwear and giant pads. Afterward I bought the biggest overnight pads from target and they were pretty comfy. I didn’t bleed heavily though.

Honestly I liked the depends. I felt more secure at night about leaking

That & im sure they are more comfortable too. Did you use the over night depends or just the regular pack?

ok, be honest! how many of you moms who've given birth wore depends after childbirth instead of pads? If you didn't, do you think it'd be a good idea? I have no idea how much bleeding I should be expecting after giving birth... and I don't want to just pick a bunch of underwear to ruin. I know the hospital gives you disposable underwear, but would depends be more comfortable and provide more leak protection?
