So... We wanted to have a baby shower for this baby. Mainly because we didn't have one with penny and wanted the experience. Well at our gender reveal one of my husbands cousins offered to throw it for us. Then when I messaged her today asking about it she asked if we even needed one. Like no we don't NEED anything we wanted to experience having a baby shower.. She told me if I felt bad about throwing our own she would do it.. Like why would I feel bad? I wanna celebrate the coming of our second daughter. I wasn't having one just to get a bunch of stuff.. Like am I just oblivious to something here? Why should I feel bad about wanting to have a baby shower?

If you don't need anything specific have it anyway! You can make sure people know that gifts are optional and that you just want them to celebrate the life of your unborn baby with you. For gifts you can ask specifically that if they insist on buying something for baby that they give inscribed books that can be kept forever for the baby.

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that

This is my first baby i mean no one has to do anything for me I just at least thought they had plans for me and they don’t. They gave my uncle one because his wife didn’t want one because she already had a kid.And everyone got a baby shower and was giving one .But I guess it’s okay. I’ll do my own baby shower with my next child I just thought family planned a baby shower for you . Lol guess I thought wrong.
