So savanna was recommended by her development doctor to attend a preschool now, I am trying to get that process going asap. Hoping to get her into a preschool before the baby is born. Any one have experience with how quickly they usually start after registering. It's with the normal elementary school near me.

My son had a speech delay so he moved to the top of the list. He started at the age of 3. Once they were notified of his development delay the school did their own evaluation. He is in kindergarten now but went to preschool for 2 years prior. It helped tremendously! I’ve been through the whole process if you have questions.

Yeah they say that she has a speech delay and a possibly intellectual delay

I signed my son up about this time of year . He was 2 but turned 3 in the summer. I was told that once he turned 3 he receives speech through the school system. He was evaluated and started in August. He’s received speech since then. I also take him once a week to a speech pathologist outside of school. Him being around other kids helped him a lot.

yeah that's what I'm hoping, how often did he attend the speech thing at school?

It was only so many minutes a month. I think he’d get 25-30 min a week. That’s why I take him outside of school as well. I wasn’t too happy with the school district I’m in so for kindergarten I found another school that had higher reviews. It’s a charter school . They still provide speech and he’s progressing more. I was worried that he’d fall behind academically because his delays. My advice is do your homework. Unfortunately I went through this with my now 16 year old. I kept him in a low performance school and his teachers didn’t know how to teach him. They would just tell me they didn’t know . It effected him academically.

they will let you know when they go over her results from the evaluation. I’d tell them . They gave me some bull about that’s all they have funding for. Complete BS!
