How did bedtime go? Did u read my last comment?

Around 30 minutes before bed we shut off all tech. They get pull ups on and clean pjs, and have last potty breaks.

Then we go up to my eldest’s room, sit on his bed, and read 1-2 books. Then I tuck in the eldest, pray for him and turn on his nightlights and fan. Finally I turn off his big light and the hall light, and either read a short book or play with a toy shortly. Lastly I tuck him in and place his car flipazoo on his tummy turn out his light and pray for him and turn on his fan. Then I monitor him on the monitor and talk to him through it only when absolutely necessary. At most I might have to put him to bed again 1-2 times, my oldest rarely gets out of bed anymore.

My son is down every night at 9, I know that's a little late but that works for our household. But our other son he's 2 he goes down at 8:30 we give him his blankets his milk and we put him in the crib we try to read but his attention span is very short that he won't sit still that long. So he gets his music and animals that project on the Celine. He crys a little but after that he's done. And consistency is key.

@mrsmord, so what’s your bedtime routine like? Have u established one? We have since they were babies. So now bedtime is very easy. I mean don’t get me wrong sometimes it’s a pain but for the most part it really nice. So we give them baths after dinner, depending on the day, then they get to watch a little show and have their milk and a snack. We always talk about how we are getting ready for bed too. Like we say it 1/2 hour before bedtime. Something like “ok it’s time to settle down because we are going to bed soon. Then at the 5mins we set the timer. So my kids are both different. My oldest, he’s 6, gets to read a story himself with me laying with him. Then I read him 2 short stories and a few pages of a big book we are reading, it’s the LEGO movie 2 mini novel. Then I give him a kiss and say good night and he goes to sleep. My 4yo can be more challenging. He’s get 3 Pete the cat books and a few pages of a big book, we are reading “the grinch” novel. Then I give a kiss say goodnight and leave his room. Occasionally he will cry for me and I go in and say it’s ok it’s time for bed and that usually does the trick. Consistency is KEY!!! Talk about how bedtime is going to go to your boys from now on. Give them the Chance to pick a few stories and that’s it. It’s going to be hard but it will work if you’re extremely consistent. We’ve always been strict about bedtime and getting to bed at a reasonable time. If not early. They are in bed by 7 in the winter and 7:30-8 in the summer. Neither of mine naps so they are beat by the end of the day. Hope some of this helps!! Good luck

How so? Like they don’t want to go to bed? What’s your routine like? We do the same thing almost every night. Do u use timers in your house? We do. We enforced the timer a long time ago. So we set 5mins on the phone. When the buzzer goes off that’s it. It’s time for bed. We actually use the timer for a lot of stuff. Like leaving places such as the park, pool etc..

it’s a game changer. They have their “ok I’m setting the timer u have 5mins” warning. Then I’ll randomly tell them how much time is left counting down. Try it. It works so well for my kids. It makes for easy transitions from activity to activity. If u wanna know more I’d love to tell u how we started it

I’m about to get Sofia into bed, let’s see how long it’ll take me . Lately it’s taking me one hour to get her to fall asleep. Xavier falls asleep wishing 5mins i wish she was like that .

I love bedtime now. We got into a really good routine. My dh takes one bit and I take the other. They get a few stories and that’s it’s. Night time. We used to have to read until they fell asleep but we’ve gotten out of that thank god
