Hey there all moms! What kind of contraceptive do you use after giving a birth? I am exclusively breastfeeding, and no periods yet. So i am thinking on getting a copper iud, coz this is non hormonal. Which one do you recommend?

I only ever use the mini pill... I know it's a pain to keep on a schedule with it but the IUD can be dangerous if anything were to happen with it... I also prefer not to put anything like that into my body
@aksharkhat there are pills that are less hormonal than the others... IUDs can dislodge and possibly move to other areas of your body and cause a lot of damage and if it fails it can cause infertility. If you prefer the IUD though I'd suggest the Mirena...I haven't heard anything negative about that one
Yeah, we are also doing so. Is it possible to get pregnant, if i don't have my periods yet?
I’m on the mini pill. It’s safe for breast feeding I also had trouble getting pregnant due to unexplained infertility so I didn’t want to use anything that could make trying again even harder.

What i am afraid of is that copper itself is a toxic metal. So copper iud can be toxic to my body. Don't know what to choose
I used the mini pill while breastfeeding but it needs to be taken at exactly the same time each day which can be hard. I’m on the copper iud now & I have no complaints.
