My husband and I are considering going the birthing center route, partially because we cant really afford hospital bills, I'm nearly halfway through this pregnancy, but my ob is draining our wallets dry, we dont have much saved up at the moment because of it and since I was so sick a few weeks ago, I missed a week and a half of work, so we're not doing well, and on top of all this, work is cutting back on my hours some which doesn't help at all! Sorry for the rant lol but its stressful as hell for both of us, anyone have any advice for birthing center stuff? I've gotten some advice from family, but I thought I'd ask lol
It's really annoying, but even with my hours cut, we dont qualify for Medicade, we're going to look into the birthing centers around and see if they would work with us on payments
@fruitloop082696 They usually have payment plans. I feel it's the best route because they also have a physician staffed need be. I really enjoyed my experience. I see you're in Wylie. I used to live there. North Dallas has a lot of awesome birthing centers. I was going to go further but found one in Grand Prairie.
The only Birthing Center I had in my area was $5k for prenatal/birth costs and was cash only.
If you are able to get Medicaid look up a birthing center that will take it. If not, they have their own payment plans at the center.
If you qualify for Medicaid, you should not have to pay for anything other than birthing classes offered at the center. I went the birthing center route for my second birth after having an OB for the first 10 weeks due to the same reason you mentioned and I decided I wanted more freedom in birth. I also looked at the cost of a c-section out of pocket expense and decided that was not going to happen.
You should be able to qualify if your work hours are getting cut. Ask me anything and I'll do my best to help.
Everybody doesn't a qualify for Medicaid but it wouldn't hurt to try
@mbelton the way I read it was every mother that was pregnant got Medicade
@mommyandstepmommy no it is income based.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.

I’m doing birth center because I want a water birth. I don’t have insurance at all and either way would be self pay. For all the appointments and the actual birth I’ll be paying a little over 6000. However, that’s not even just the birth part of a hospital birth, and that doesn’t include all appointments. And they do have a payment plan. Unfortunately since you’re already 19wks you might have problems finding a birth center who has an available spot open. I know mine books fast and I’m only 6wks and I’m starting care with them at the end of this week so I have my spot.
