Did any moms breastfeed if so how long?I was only able to breastfeed my son for a week or two weeks I had a hard time getting him to latch and I would bleed when he wasnt latched right and they would hurt so bad and leak so much ....any suggestions or tips?🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Bring nipple cream to thr hospital! I brought mine and started using it right away, helped the nips not to dry out and crack!
I also gaf help from a lactation consultant on latches. It still hurt fir a week or so but got better and now no pain
I nursed and pumped for 9 months with my first and am at 8 wks with my second. 🤞
I was in the same boat as you with my son. Only lasted a week or 2. Hoping to succeed with this baby.
Keep at it, my son had tongue tie so he couldn’t latch either so I used a breast pump every 2 hours and started producing more and more milk that way he’s getting what he needs plus I eat oatmeal twice a day it’s great for milk production
I did it for five months . My supply dropped so bad . But that was my fault . I wasn’t educated much on breastfeeding cause it was literally a last minute decision . Next time I’m hoping to do better . But maybe your son had a lip or tongue tie ? That’s what it sounds like lol. Just have the doctor check this time if you have the same issues
I did for two years. First two months we're rough cuz baby was only 4lbs 13oz at birth but his latch was good. Had to supplement with special formula for about a month to get fat on him and then pumped for another month but ended up dropping that and doing just breast only. See a lactation consultant in the hospital and have baby checked for a tongue/lip tie at their first appointment. It can make all the difference in the world when they can latch correctly.
I’m breastfeeding currently we will be going on a year next month although I breastfeed part time and supplement with formula. My tip though is to have baby checked for lip or tongue ties this is a common cause of latch issues. My daughter had hers corrected and nurses like a champ since. Also just like me you don’t have to “choose” you can do both of baby will take it. I breastfed during the day but did bottles of formula at night. She slept better and obviously so did I. Nothing wrong with doing both
Yeah I wanted to do both because that's what I was doing with my first
I breastfed my son for 2 years and 8 months, only stopped bc I was on a medicine I couldn’t nurse with and he handled not nursing those days so well we just didn’t go back.
Nursing hurts like a B for a few weeks but then it’s okay. I had my ups and downs with it, but ultimately I’m glad we made it as long as we did and I plan to do the same with my second.
I made it through multiple rounds of thrush, breastfeeding aversion, and a kid who would nurse for hours on end without a break when he was stressed. But we have such a close bond and the health (and financial) benefits were worth it to me.
No pain at all for me, breastfed tgrough an entire pregnanctly so tgat was very tiring. & I did get mastitis once when BF my daughter and a clogged duct or 2 but so far no problems BF my son.
23 months for my daughter, then started breastfeeding my son. On 7 months with him. Been breastfeeding non stop for 2 in a half years. Lol
What did you do when you would have a heavy flow and would leak?
@athenia823 I rarely leaked, honestly. But I do have breastpads just in case.
I did about 2 weeks and was just too hard for me. I wasn’t going to give up tho so I would pump. I pumped every 90min for 15min for 8 months. Then my milk started to decrease. But I did it! And I truest believe it made a huge difference in my daughter. She is so smart and sooooo healthy!!
@harloeagain21 so you didnt store them in bottles or anything like that
@harloeagain21, I jump seen the elbow it’s similar but don’t require bags but it’s out of stock and they said the suction is low compared to the willow
@athenia823, I usually used them right away but sometimes I’d have to store them till I got home or freeze them for another day. I just kept them in the bags
also stay hydrated and eat oatmeal everyday if not every other day. Keep your calorie count high also because your baby will burn a lot of calories when you nurse.
Okay I hate oatmeal...🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
14 months. Meet with the LC at your hospital before discharge and don’t be afraid to go back if you need more guidance.
I’m currently still breastfeeding and my daughter is over a year old. Don’t give up, it hurts at first and it takes time for them to latch correctly, your nipple will be sore and will start to peel a little that’s probably why you were bleeding, but they sell a cream to moisturize your nipples and it’s safe for babies if they ingest it. Also there’s different ways you can hold your breast to have them feed, and usually the football way told your baby works really good. I’ll post pictures under here so you can see what i mean
Tuesday makes four weeks I’ve been breast-feeding, there’s pain like when she first latch but only for like three seconds, I do also exclusively pump every three hours that can be tiresome but it’s good if you want to build your freezer stash
@athenia823, my short term goal was six months but now I’m aiming for two years lol 😂
@athenia823, and check with your insurance because you may have it where you can have a lactation consultant come to your home for in-home visits
I made it to 9 months with my daughter and 15 months with my son. The beginning is not easy. If you want tips you can speak to a lactation consultant. Don’t stress yourself though, a fed baby is best! You got this!
Thankyou! I'm just just trying to prepare myself for when she gets here ..and the breastmilk is the best for her...
My daughter for 6months and my son for 1year. This one I will let self ween. And cut off at age 2 if he/she don’t ween before then.
Did you experience any pain ?
@athenia823, oh yeah the first couple weeks was a living hell. After that nothing until it was time to ween. The engorging is terrible also. But I honestly believe it was all worth it and I can’t wait to do it again. ♥️
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
