Remember, Car and Carseat safety is not a parental choice. Laws are laws.
Seatbelts at all times.
Individuals 12 years and younger must sit in the back seat per law.
Rearfacing until at least 2 years old per safety regulations, but safest to rearface until they are over two and outgrow rearfacing.
Front face with proper carseat until they outgrow it.
Booster until 8 years old in most States or until they weigh 80lbs or until they are 4 foot 9 inches.
Be sure to look up your state laws and the current car seat safety regulations as they are not always updated with state laws.

ETA: As stated above be sure to research the most current safety regulations! The laws are the bare minimum but current safety regulations are updated as soon as new research is released! Laws are not always updated as they should be. If current safety regulations states an older age than the law, I urge you to abide by the safety regulations. Our babies deserve more than the bare minimum.

@mychemicalshaymance, that’s why I don’t like when people get attacked on car seat post. Bc someone may be following the “law” and not know the recommendations, and then when all said and done. They don’t love or deserve their kids. When they were just following the law and clueless on the recommendation.
In no way, shape or form and I going against the car seat recommendations.
Some people give information and educated the parents nice and professional and some just straight attAck, like they just wait for someone to slip up.
@lakota-winyan I've only noticed it on posts where it's been a constant thing where they have been told of the current standards previously. But that's only what I see.

@mockingbird., we almost got into an accident today going home the first thing my boyfriend said was thank god we got her a better seat and kept her rear facing because he wanted to turn her around and I fought him on it but seeing how crazy people drive I’m glad he sees my point
I was told that Nevada have the most car related deaths. Not sure why they are so lax on their car seat laws

Until about 2 months ago, you could forward face from 6 months over here!!! 😱😱😱 they finally changed it to outgrow the seat requirements. Also from 7 years old we can put kids in the front seat with no booster or anything. Crazy hey.
