Will your Mom be in the delivery room? My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
#mombassadorchat Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Please share your breastfeeding stories and tips! Hi everyone! @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom here. For today's chat we're going to talk about breastfeeding and pumping in honor of World Breastfeeding Week! Both can seem complicated or stressful, but remember you have lots of support here! With my first son I had things going against us for breastfeeding. I wish I knew back when he was younger that we could have still tried! With my second son I was determined to breastfeed, and even though he was born 11 weeks early I wasn't going to let that stop us from trying to breastfeed! For 7 weeks I pumped every 2 1/2-3 hours on the dot to establish and maintain my milk supply. When your little one is born early they usually need time to master sucking, swallowing, and breathing so I wasn't able to nurse right away. When my son was 33 weeks gestational (so 4 weeks old) we were finally able to latch on, and he did great! By 36 weeks gestational we had successfully started breastfeeding, and today marks 21 months of actual at-breast breastfeeding for us! I am passionate in trying to help moms-to-be and moms with breastfeeding and/or pumping, but I support moms who choose not to or for other reasons cannot breastfeed. Remember, I mentioned I didn't breastfeed my first son. I understand both sides. Breastfeeding isn't always easy, but I believe it's at least worth trying! Please help me celebrate World Breastfeeding Week by sharing your tips, questions, concerns, product recommendations, or anything else breastfeeding and pumping related! If you have a question for @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, please tag her in the comments below! Or share your advice and feeding stories.
FTM problems... So I've made it pretty clear that I want to buy my daughter her fist Halloween costume. Her babysitter/nanny keeps saying she wanted to make her one. I told her yesterday that I wanted to find her something that my SO and I could dress up as a family. So I told her I am going to get it. She just text me and said 'not trying to step on your toes but I bought her two costumes'. She does this all the time. Anytime I want to do the "first" things with her she immediately does it. It's making me sad. Like I wish I could quit my job and be home with her.

Mama! My heart goes out to you! I can relate. Please get this book:
Breastfeeding Made Simple.
I have a great lactation consultant and even she couldn't help me like that book! It saved my bf'ing journey with my second baby and wish I'd of had it for my first I wish I could talk to you in person to give you a hug and encouragement. 2 weeks is not enough. Your baby is too tiny to eat without hurting you. Pumping sucks. They are giving you bad information and it takes longer than that. I wanted to give in at this point, too. But I was fortunate to have someone who encouraged me, gave me the book I recommended to you, and pushed me with the knowledge that it DOES get better. And it did! It took a couple months but as my friend who is a nurse told me, my baby needed time to get bigger and to learn how to eat.
Here's a tip:
Before pumping: use a warm compress and hand express to give some relief.
When you pump: use breast milk on your nipples and areolas before you get started and after you're done. The milk will moisturize the area.
Make sure to pump on the lowest setting possible and never more than 15 minutes at once. For at least the next 3 weeks pump anytime you believe your baby would naturally be needing to eat.
At 7 minutes use the let down button.
Pumping was the worse thing ever for me but I learned that it should never be painful. If it is painful there is something wrong. I always found it to be painful in the beginning and it was always uncomfortable but I learned how to do it in a way that it didn't cause me damage and I could tolerate. I hope you will be able to do the same or better.
I am sooooooo sorry you are going through this but have faith you and baby will be ok! If the day comes that you decide you no longer wish you bf then at least you will know you did you best!!!
And yes! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL MOMMY!!!! Today we celebrate you and the life God has given you. It is not without struggle but it is beautiful and blessed!!!! God bless you and keep you!!! Lay your troubles at His feet and he will carry you through!!!! Hugs, love, and prayers!!!!!!

@scruffy.nerf.herder Thank you! Thank you so much for your kindness. I never know if I am having the positive impact that I intend and only ever want to uplift and encourage our fellow mothers in need. That book is great even if you are a seasoned breastfeeding mom. I have turned back to it a few times since overcoming the initial difficulty and think it should come standard issue during pregnancy for every mother who is planning to nurse her child. I wish I had read it before the baby was born but it was given to me when she was a few days old. ☺️

This is the sweetest, most encouraging reply! ❤️ Thank you for so eloquently putting into words what I was trying to figure out how to say. And that book sounds fantastic!

Can you see a lactation consultant? Make sure your flanges are the correct size, they can also get you a prescription cream to help with the pain. It will get better, your body just needs to regulate. Try a nipple shield when you do get her to latch. Hand Express if it is too painful to pump until you get some help. ((Hugs))
