My first two were epidural but my last baby was nothing . And tbh, it was much easier and painless with my first two, but everything was so much deeper, meaningful, and powerful without the epidural . I felt empowered and proud afterwards and was just so full of adrenaline it was crazy . I instantly regretted not doing it natural the first two times . I think my baby was a more alert and happy baby at birth as well too . My first two came out and fell asleep on my chest and only would wake when the doctors or nurses messed with them, but Marley was bright eyed, alert, and looking around everywhere and stayed that way for the first two hours before finally closing her eyes and dozing off for a bit . It was just a much more special and magical time without the epidural in my opinion . However, I’m not gonna lie to you at all and I will warn you ahead of time that the contractions just before pushing time are HARD . I could hardly breathe between them, they came on so fast and so strong I couldn’t believe it . And the “ring of Fire” is NO JOKE lol . That’s when the baby’s head is crowning and about to come out and it BURNS . It’s definitely the worst part I’d say lol . But I can promise you if I have a fourth baby, I’ll 100% be doing it epidural free☺️ so yes it was painful, but it was so worth that pain and getting to see my body in action handling it all on its own .

But in the end, no matter what you choose or how you do it.. you’re gonna feel accomplished and proud, as you should feel💕 you’ll be quite impressed with the life you created and brought into the world☺️ YOURE A GODDAMN WARRIOR🤘🏽💪🏽💜

I only have experience with natural and I was blessed with a smooth delivery BUT you can get up and move without the epidural, no risk of life long back pain from the needle, better control over pushing and ability to listen to your body (I told the nurses to basically fuck off a few times), NO CATHETER HALLELUJAH, for me personally being able to feel the physical pain kept me way too distracted from the anxiety over who was there or how things looked, etc (which was important for mee.)

Cons, obviously more pain lol but it wasn't THAAAAAAAT bad

Pro: you don’t feel a thing... Con: you don’t feel a thing hahaha, focus ALL of your energy like you’re taking a poop I closed my eyes and acted like I was pooping cause I couldn’t push the correct way for awhile since everything was numb

I was induced and had back labor for hours without pain relief and it was horrible I'm traumatized but it makes me think I could do it Natural if I don't have back labor.

I’ve never gone natural and I don’t plan to so I can’t say much about that, but I can tell you the epidural made my labors so peaceful. I love being in labor, and resting. I’ve always known when it was time to push or when I was contracting. And maybe it’s just my hospital, but I was up walking around 45 minutes maybe even less after giving birth. I’ve never had back pain or any existing pain from having an epidural. I’ve always wanted to try to go natural but I’ve just had way too easy of labors with an epi to want to try anything different. If you can do it though, more power to you!

@oggirl.mom, lol well of course, but you can’t tell them they’re right in the heat of the moment 😂 they know nothing until it’s all over and you sit back and tell them thanks you couldn’t have done it without them lol . I’m stubborn so In moments like that, I’ll act like I know everything there is to know 😂

I'm planning to go all natural this time. I had the epidural and had sciatic pain on my left side for a few months, as well as bad back pain where I couldn't bend over for 3 months then, just back aches for up to a year. Not doing that again

Before having her, I told myself I was going to compare it to the worst pain I had yet felt in life... Which was working 70 hours of a physical job through a long period of sciatica. I would rather give birth natural than have sciatica again - you can totally do it 😬

@lei14mar oh yeah, thing is I made it halfway, I had pitocin and pitocin is honestly the worst. I hate it. My water broke naturally, but my contractions didn't start, then all of a sudden they were on hyperdrive and I stalled at 6cm for a while and I was just dying lol. So whilst yes, I know it's painful, I just am going to try different methods this time, because with pitocin they didn't let me walk around or anything. So.. hopefully labor does it's thing normally this time.... 😌

I had the epidural 3 times but the doctors didn't tell me about all the after effects. Go natural
