RANT. IM SOO TIRED! Alls the baby does is fuss and want to eat all the time my nipples feel like they are going to fall off. I'm only getting 2 hours of sleep every night and have a permanent head ache that will not go away for about a week. Now my cat is peeing all over my house and I dont know what to do about it. I'm just so tired. 😭

Aww mama.. I’m so sorry you’re going thru it!! Try to hang in there & hopefully things get better for you!! Don’t be afraid to ask someone for help so you can get a little sleep or a nice long shower to yourself. & look into nipple cream forsure!! That’s all that saved me in the beginning.

Yes nipple cream! I didn't even know about it with my 1st. Using the cream is a life saver! Or even a nipple shield if it's extremely severe.

Awww i'm so sorry. It was like that with my 2nd child, I know how hard that is. I tried pumping so my husband could give her a bottle at night & she wouldn't take it at all. Many nights I slept in the guest room on my side & let her nurse while i dosed in and out of sleep. Or i slept on the recliner while she nursed. Sometimes you gotta do whatever works... for your sanity! Try to remember it won't last forever. 😏

The cat could be peeing in the house for any number of reasons but it very well could be a medical issue. I would definitely take it to the vet to make sure he/she is okay.

@sourpatchmama96 Also, my son was breastfed & we supplemented with formula sometimes it's completely fine to do so. As long as baby is fed you do what you need to do for your sanity. You will be a better mommy with sleep. Lol I agree with the 1st poster. You can ask your pediatrician what kind of formula they recommend for your baby.

@sourpatchmama96 That's all you can do then. If it's extremely bad to where baby is uncomfortable I would let the doctor know bc they may want to put her on medication for reflux. But if she is not bothered by it & still gaining weight then medicine is usually not necessary.

@sourpatchmama96 You could also try pumping & see if she will take a bottle from your husband so you can get a break. But a lot of times breastfeeding is about the comfort & security of the breast not just feeding so she may not want the bottle, but it can't hurt to try. Sorry I keep posting 1000 times! It's not letting me edit my posts. 😂😂

See I really hated this idea of giving my baby formula when I had my baby, because the ideal is that we all have to breastfeed our babies and only that will suffice and if we don’t were inadequate mothers. Well that’s all a bunch of horse poo. My SO insisted he feed our daughter formula when I was going through the exact same thing as you because she wouldn’t stop crying and I couldn’t get any sleep and I was just exhausted in all ways possible. Well one day I just let him do it & boy did I get a good nights rest! After that we supplemented here and there only when we needed to or I needed a break. Like that saying goes, you can’t take care of everyone else if you don’t take care of yourself. I’m not sure what your situation is like, but don’t ever feel like formula is bad or it will take away your bond from breastfeeding! You are doing great and you will get through this. Good luck, you got this! Oh and as for the cat, could he go outside? We gave our cat to my MIL because we couldn’t deal with a baby and a cat in the house at the same time.

@sourpatchmama96, Hmm my pediatrician had formula samples for us to try and I also received some formula samples in the mail for free so you could search for some just to try. It didn’t affect my daughter’s tummy because she wasn’t sensitive to milk based formula, but when we had my son turned out he was. So when he drank the regular formula, he broke out with a little rash around the mouth that lasted maybe 10-15 min and that was it then we switched to soy. My son also had acid reflux. The nice thing is that they grow out of it, but what I’ve found is that I could never lay down and nurse him and that after every feeding I had to keep him upright at about a 45° angle for 15-30 min. Also, he was so so gassy so he would be super fussy because of my breast milk. So when we gave him formula it was a nice relief because what I was eating was affecting him. Also, a lot of people supplement and still breastfeed so it shouldn’t affect her tummy. Have you tried changing your diet as well? I had to completely give up milk while I breastfed my son.

@x3kellie I got a gentle formula today and tried supplementing she refused to drink it she kept spitting it out and trying to push the bottle out of her mouth.

@sourpatchmama96, Just keep trying to give it to her, she’s used to your sweet breast milk so she won’t want it at first. You could also try mixing breast milk with the formula to get her to take the bottle and used to it and slowly switch to just formula in the bottle. You got this mama!
