Is it highly recommended to wash the baby’s new clothes?
I washed everything I knew she would come in contact with. You never know where exactly those items come from before you buy them
Absolutely! Anything that comes in contact with baby, I wash. Blankets, sheets, clothes, u name it. I just bought bassinet sheets, pack n play sheets, blankets, swaddles, socks, and a few outfits yesterday and they're all currently in the dryer.
I never did, I've never boughten new clothes tho. I only get them at second hand stores, like once upon a child, or the children's closet
@joselin.salazar47 I don't see a need for it🤷🏻♀️ you're required to wash, dry and fold them to sell them there or they refuse the clothes. A little dust and germs is good for babies immune system😉😊
@mariahpeterson, that’s exactly what my husband says lol I am a clean freak or I like to wash everything before I use it but I learned that he just doesn’t get sick and it’s because of that of course he still clean his things but his mentality is that it’s okay to get germs because then the immune system will be really wacky and it’s definitely true.
Absolutely. Even for adults. There have people who get staph infections just from touching clothes that someone else has touched that has been sick.
Yes definitely. The clothes can get dirty from being in the store and handled by the public. But clothes have also been known to be exposed to molds while in transport. You should always wash all new clothes for anyone, but especially for babies.
I would wash a decent bit but I’ve definitely pulled tags off & put it on them that day. It doesn’t hurt to wash stuff just because you never know where it was before but it happens sometimes where you don’t have time or they need to wear it NOW & there is no time to wash first. If I buy from a secondhand store though I always wash those cause I know they’ve been in someone’s home before & people have used it.
