Soooo my buddy has lost almost 2lbs 😩
He’s eating well, acting well, & having normal stools. Dr can’t understand why he lost weight. So she suggested a formula substitute.
- he’s never taken a bottle
- he’s never had formula
This was his face when we tried 😬
We tried multiple bottles. Also tried dropping it into his mouth. But he will latch on to me no problem.
He’s not crying he just looks disgusted 😂 I said buddy are you going to be high class and make me buy a $80 formula 😭
Are you the only one giving him a bottle? Leave the room if you have to. They really just want the source.
We tried that too. After he wouldn’t latch onto the second bottle
Hmmm. What about a sippy cup? You can fortify breastmilk to increase the calories. There's a recipe for each formula but I used to add 1/2 tsp per 3oz if I remember. So it will mostly taste like breastmilk. Perhaps a specialist referral as well
I tried dropping the formula into his mouth just by spraying and he didn’t like it. But we are going to do labs. They watched me feed him for 20min and could hear his gulps so they aren’t sure it’s a feeding issue. Also giving him vitamins. And reevaluating my diet. We set up another weight check Friday and then we will move forward
@knockout, I was just going to say try adding some good fats to your diet. I hope you guys can figure it out!
@knockout you can't add fat to your breastmilk, but you can change the type of fats. Lots of nuts, avocado, oils, etc. Some say hand Express first so he gets more fatty hind milk when he's actually eating, but that is controversial. Others say hind milk is really mixed throughout rather than at the end.
Hopefully its something simple. Plateauing would make sense, losing doesn't.
Also instead of buying full cans. Ask his dr if they have any samples of different kinds
What if you pump put have formula and half breast milk maybe. When I was going to switch formula for my baby he wouldn’t drink it either and they suggested doing half and half and every few days slowly lowering the first formula till it was completely just the new one. Idk mama just an idea hope it helps!
He doesn’t take a bottle at all. Even if it has breastmilk. We’ve tried 8 brands before when I was pumping. He let 73oz get donated because he wouldnt eat what I pumped, only from latching
@knockout, o man :/ I’m sorry mama I hope you find something that helps!
My babe is the same way. Gunna have to try a new formula. 🤦🏻♀️
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

My husband and I aren’t exactly strangers when it comes to relationship challenges 💞. We have been together for 14 years and married for eight, so we’ve definitely gone through some growing pains as we navigated a long-distance relationship in college and our first year living together as a married 👫 couple.
But nothing has challenged our relationship quite like our first year as 👪 parents .
Before you have your first child, you have these grand ideas of what it will be like. There’s more slee...
Preggies,
Today, we are deeply saddened by the news that @Martinajjones' baby, Jason Andrew Colley, was born early and passed away. He was born today, on his father's birthday, at 34 weeks, weighing 4 pounds 7 ounces and 17 inches long. @Martinajjones has been a strong member of this community since January. We are so sad for her loss, and her family's, and our thoughts go out to her.
You can message the family on this post, if you would like to add your condolences.
Best wishes,
Preggie_USA
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...

“You look too young to be a mom!”
Or how about …
“You have a BABY? No! You look like a baby yourself!”👶
Oh wait, here’s a good one …
“Are you the nanny, ooor … ?”
“No, yeah I’m his mom,” I’d reply. “Yes, I am young,” I’d agree.
Considering I got pregnant straight out of college, I was certainly on the younger end of the parenting spectrum. (No one was more surprised than me, I assure you.) And yet, I wasn’t exactly a teen mom. I wasn’t juggling school courses and motherhood, like so many s...
The labs will be sent over today and they are going to call me. His blood sugar level was normal which is good
