I’m really stressing out! My almost 20 month old still isn’t talking, & barely eating! Just been sitting here googling stuff to help with her development, but every time we try something new, she’s uninterested! I really just feel like crying. & she’s almost 20 months, weighing at 20 pounds, which adds about 20 more loads of stress 😞
@kbbaybee16, Ive always wanted to learn sign language! Maybe that’s something we both can learn together! I love that idea.. & yes, she’s still on a bottle, only at night, which I’m trying to get her off of.. but she cries for it & I start to feel bad, because I feel like she hungry from not eating during the day.. I’m giving her toddler formula at night, so she can still get the nutrients she needs.
Ya sign is fun. My son absolutely loves it. He’s got more than 40 signs now. Ya the bottle my son was on til almost 2.5 cuz I felt like without it he would starve but I took it away cold turkey cuz he drank from it all day and he started eating more
Ok for the talking I thought it was crazy but sign language helped a ton!! He picked it up so fast and is talking pretty good now. He’s also In speech therapy. Bring her to an ENT to make sure there’s no fluid in her ears. Is she still on a bottle? Could be why she’s not eating much. My son is 3 and only 28 pounds if the doctor isn’t worried about her weight neither should you honestly. One thing at a time
My first didn’t start talking until after he turned 2 before that he said some words and that was all... He is 11 now and was never ever behind developmentally I think it’s just something that will come with age. My second was talking sentences before two, I think each kid is just different I don’t think you have anything to worry about at this point.
@valerie_jean, is there anything that you did, to help with the talking? Or did it just eventually come with age?
We practiced every day with simple things. Like if he was pointing at something I’d tell him what it is. I’d just go over objects and words. But it definitely comes with age. Don’t worry about it too much!
My son honestly didn’t start taking until he was 2. He could say simple words a little before that like hi, bye, and a few colors but not very well. Each child is different and the older they get the more interested in learning they will get. My son just turned 4 and he’s 31 pounds, still in 3T clothing, and if he wears 3T jeans they have to have the synch in the waist because the waist doesn’t fit him yet.🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
@kbbaybee16, I’ve been thinking about doing that lately. We just recently bought another can of formula! So I guess after that is gonna, I won’t buy another! Wish me luck!
