Stupid question but if the ovulation test shows a faint line does that mean ur ovulating?

The result line should be darker than the other one for it to be positive

No, they have to be equal in color to be positive. Positive means you have a high enough surge to ovulate but doesn’t always mean that you do. Only temps confirm ovulation.

Ovulation tests test for an LH surge that always precedes ovulation but ovulation does not always happen after an LH surge.

I don't trust ovulation test. I did it a few times got the dark line, went to OB he did blood work to confirm and told me I did not ovulate

OPKs only detect surges but will not confirm ovulation. Only temps confirm ovulation.

@massmomma16 no the doctor did blood work to confirm the that I had ovulated. I took a test at hime first.

They nearly almost have a line. The line needs to be as dark as or darker than the control line to indicate ovulation.
