More experienced moms: how did you know your baby was teething?
She doesn’t seem to have any bumps on her gums but she’s drooling a ton, very fussy, and chewing on everything with her little gums. She was inconsolable most of the day today unless she was chewing on my nose and being held. She doesn’t cry for no reason, ever, and today she was screaming high pitched until she turned red. She’s almost two months old... could she be teething already? She doesn’t seem gassy (which was my other guess). She’s burping and tooting as usual and her belly doesn’t seem to be bothering her. Help!
Yeah I definitely don’t want to give her meds if she doesn’t need them. At the same time I don’t want her to be hurting. I’m keeping an eye out for bumps on her gums. I just wanted to know if it’s possible. Her cries seem to be more sudden and high pitched than normal which made me think she might be in pain, but I’m a FTM so maybe i have no idea what I’m doing haha
@laurajonelle half the time none of us know what we are doing, we just do the best we can! Just give her lots of cuddles and she will be ok, she could also be having gas pains or growing pains. Two months was the WORST month with growing. He was very clingy.
Teething yes they can be theething that early. Tylenol frozen breast milk or formula also can buy teething toys.
Our baby doesn’t really like it but I’ve heard a ton of babies enjoy frozen wash cloths! You can either freeze it with water or breastmilk if you pump. We’ve come to the conclusion that our son doesn’t like anything too cold
You've got a teether! Infant Tylenol was our life saver. Also, I found with my son he didn't care for teething toys or the bibs or really anything he was supposed to enjoy. We discovered the best thing for teething by complete accident.... A SOCK IN A KNOT. We just held the sock in our hand while he gnawed at the knot. Obviously clean sock lol!
Ooh I’ll have to try it! So far she likes her arms and my nose and nothing else will calm her down.
Drooling and exploring with the mouth are common things for babies to do whether they’re teething or not. We actually never really knew when our son was teething. He never seemed to be too fussy. His teeth just popped through.
2 months is when the salivary glands start functioning. Babies just love comfort. Enjoy your time now with her. She will grow up way too fast. ❤️
Oh cool, I didn’t know that! I’m definitely enjoying the extra snuggles. I just don’t want to assume she’s just fussing if she’s in pain.
Don't give the baby tylenol for MAYBE teething. It's unlikely that's what's wrong. They do have a really big growth spurt around that age where they get SUPER fussy and cry and want held most the day. My son breastfed so he just cluster fed all day. Also the age they just love to chew on their hands. It's stressful but it will pass!
