How did everyone feel after their C Section i didn't feel to bad yesterday but think i overdid it now doing good to walk
Yea the day after the baby i got up walked around the hospital got dressed did my hair cleaned the room now i am up and going but soooo sore and my legs and feet r so swollen heck o didn't even have swollen feet while pregnant thank god for my Boyfriend he has been so much help
Let me tell you my experience with 4 c-sections and one prenatal surgeries. The sooner i got up and walked the better my recovery was. With my first I thought i can relax and just lay there in bed, but nurse came in and said get ready i will come back in a few hrs to get you up, i thought she was funny and I didn’t need help, when she came back and I tried getting up it was the worst thing ever! Pain, lightheaded, weakness i gave up for another couple of hours.
With my second i asked to get up once i was in my room, she said in 18 hrs, but i called her back and said i want to get up so she said she will let me try but if i feel too weak i should lay back down, and guess what, i got up and asked to take the catheter out because i will not need it.
After prenatal surgery it took me 2 days to get up because of contractions and risks of labor, but it was the toughest one, I hated the catheter the most!!
Once i got up I felt so much better and healed faster!
Take it easy, do not over do it. Take pain medicine if you need it, don’t wait until you’re in too much pain.
It is good to get up and walk but yes you have to listen to your body. I would always start to bleed worse when I over did it after my csections. The first one I was up walking the next day, I was stiff but got around really well. The second csection i tried getting up about the same time after but i got into the middle of the room and got stuck i was in so much pain, my husband had to bring me a chair until I could walk back to the hospital bed. But I think that had to also do with the 20+ hours of labor and dilating to 9.5cm. My body was just not ready!
