He says mom, mommy, momma, dada, daddy, no, thank you, ball, play, eat, cookie, let's go, hi, bye, baby, woah, and he repeats easy words we say.
Mine doesnt say alot either but she is learning 2 languages and im not worried. She says baba, mama, bye and 2 words in arabic
I heard kids that learn multiple languages at the same time are delayed but when they start talking they sky rocket with their languages skills! I recently just found a sitter who's going to help teach us and baby Spanish.
@addy, yess my son speaks both languages. Im not too worried for my daughter too. Thats good! Its nice teaching babies 2 languages.
We’ve got quite a few words at my house. Mama dada papa on off stuck water no knows the signs for all done please thank you and more.
I see our sons were born only a few days apart! Mine was born 9/9/17. What all does your son say?
Mama, dada, bubba, hi, yeah.
He will shake his head for no, but won't actually say no.
Depends on the day. So far she has yay, hi, hello, wow, yeah, cat, mom, da, buh (for brother), please, binky, juice, and the signs for all done, more, and please. Some days she’ll combine the signs more and please, but not always.
As a mother to a 4 year old with a speech delay and autism, if you have concerns, please, please follow your mom gut and get your baby a speech evaluation and have him retested every 4-6 months or so.
@momoftwo1, I am only because my girl was talking by now I know we shouldn’t compare but we do! He can only make sounds like he tries to copy me saying bathroom and he will say “BA BOOM” like as if you was humming if that makes sense. Are you?
@erincharlieconor, @momoftwo1, I’ve heard boys say a lot less than girls, so I wouldn’t be too concerned yet. My 19 month old girl has a long list of words that she says and she basically will attempt to repeat any word back to you. Doesn’t always come out right though lol. On the other hand, my cousin that has two boys, has struggled with their speech. She has a 22 month old boy who only says a small handful of things. Her now 4 year old was the same way but he now talks just fine.
@erincharlieconor my son says about 8words between the 2 languages so im not concerned i was jst wondering how everyone elses little one is doing.
My daughter was speaking alot back then. She was babbling since she was 10 months old, do not compare. I know it's hard. I was there. My daughter didnt walk until she was 1year and 5 months and I thought she was "behind" because other kids were walking at a year.
I say give it time if by 2 years he still isnt talking maybe get an evaluation
