How do you punish a 3 year old to stop hitting mama when he cant get his way ?
I always tell my son, “It’s okay to be mad. It’s not okay to be mean.” It seems to really impact him in a positive way. If he ever hits, he goes in time out.
Were dealing with this my husband's other son hits when he doesn't get his way I tell him nicely that we don't hit people, it hurts and it's not nice. He don't listen. Lol
@athenia823 wWhatever works for your house hold. I was raised like that but I won't do it to my son. But I don't judge people that spank or poping. Its your child 😊
@jenny955 yeah..because my son isnt bad he just loves to get his way
I tell him we don’t hit and if he does it again he’s going to time out. If he hit again, take a toy away for the rest of the day.
He very rarely hits, so this has been effective for us.
Hitting a child for hitting makes absolutely no sense and will just confuse the crap out of them.
I grab my sons hands, get serious and tell him NOT to do that and explain it hurts and is mean and he stops.
I'm not against spanking, however in this situation, you do not wanna hit him back, that will not teach him to not hit you, your showing him it's okay to hit when frustrated.
Time ouuuuuuuut for 3 minutes. Although this doesn’t stop my brat from doing it again, but it’s more for me so I’m not tempted to whoop his ass. 😭 I’ve tried spanking him but it makes it worse. My first son got swatted and learned quickly. This one, there’s a fire in this one that I haven’t figured out how to put out yet. Lol. Kid has nerves of steel and no fear. Good luck mama! Keep trying out different methods and hopefully you’ll find something that works!
Lols okay ....🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
@athenia823, every kid is different. Sorry if I wasn’t helpful. Parenthood is all about trial and error. Maybe your kid will respond to having a toy taken away, or a special time out chair. Another part we forget about sometimes is rewarding them when they aren’t being little shits. Lol. Positive reinforcement is huge! I’m sure you know this already. Just don’t give up mama! You got this!
@kimberly_the-preemie-mom yes most definitely thankyou!
Honestly I’d pop him back so he can see how it feels but that’s just me 🤷🏽♀️
@mariahserenity05 that's exactly what my son does he listens to his daddy but not me
@athenia823 idk what it is about dad's lol! I've been tried to make my voice deep LMFAO and yell stop he still knows it's my ass😂😂🤦
