I've been worried sick all day about my swelling. Back of my mind says preeclampsia My last doc visit they said my blood pressure was high and I was only like 18 weeks. I'm 21 now. I'm going to check it at Kroger tonight. If its high should I go to the hospital or just wait it out till my next doc visit? (28th)

I'm going to tell you my experience. I had high blood pressure at the end of my first pregnancy. I wasn't treated with medication because was mild. Everything went well with my baby, I had an induction and C-section, but baby was perfect. Don't worry too much and get too stressed about it. A good mental state is a good choice.

Tell your doc about your concerns. They recommended me drink more water and less salt, rest. Some light exercise or activity for pregnancy. Take your prenatals vitamins. Probably next appointment they going to tell you what to do, test your urine and be treated if you need it.

Rest, lying on your left side to take the weight of the baby off your major blood vessels.

Increase prenatal checkups.

Consume less salt

Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

Change your diet to include more protein

*Avoid standing for long periods.

*Rest with your feet elevated

*Comfortable shoes.

Thank you SOOO much for your input. Seriously it helps me feel less jittery about this all 💓 I'm gonna be checking it in a little bit.

No doubt if it's high, go right in. Im at high risk for preeclampsia and I borrowed my mom's BP monitor so I can check in between ob visits. I'm always checking.

Well high blood pressure and swelling is dangerous even not pregnant so I would go in.

I was thinking to. I spoke to a nurse who said it cant be diagnosed really till about 24 weeks.. but I'm just really worried about it.

Is it just my docs?

Idk why, but every time I go to the doctor they just check my blood pressure, weight, urine, baby's heartbeat, and send me on my way!

babybump_user My doctors don't do anything else either... However I saw someone different last week and she checked
