So random question.. does anyone use both the seat belt and the latches for their car seat attachment? I read the manual for mine and it just said one or the other but then my friend mentioned her husband did both and I was like.. 🤨 Why make it harder on yourself? The manual for theirs is one or the other.. not sure doing both hurts anything, just would make it more annoying but I am no car seat safety expert. 🤷🏼♀️

Yeah it’s supposed to be one or the other not both. Not sure why to be honest though

It’s just supposed to be one or the other. They aren’t crash tested using both, and it could be potentially deadly to utilize both.

Oh that is scary! I will tell her to look over the manual herself since her husband apparently fails at reading.. 🤦🏻♀️

It would be like wearing your contacts and putting your glasses on. It's not double protection, it's actually harmful.

I figured it was not the best of ideas quite frankly but also it can kinda be rather awkward to tell your friend their husband sucks at reading guides.🤦🏻♀️ Definitly let her know I just can’t believe how someone who is supposedly an engineer missed something that big.

I always thought it was meant to use both... no expert either! FTM so I only know what I've learned from my nannying days. The mom I used to work for used both so it's just what I always did

I just read the manuals for my seats and went off what they said with just one or the other but they said nothing about both. I think it would be nice if they specifically said not to use both options though.

Wow, I always thought you were supposed to use both. 🤦🏽♀️ Not an expert either, just did what I was told from others when installing my boys car seats. 🤔🙄

Glad I posted about this since it seems to be a more common practice than I thought!
