Does back labor come in waves or is it a constant horrible pain?

My back is in horrible pain and doesn’t let up no matter what I do.. it slowly is getting worse in pain.. my stomach hardens like a Braxton hick every 10 min or so but doesn’t really hurt my stomach

For me it was a Constant dull pain then intense pain during a contraction

Mine came in waves like a regular contraction. It was actually at the same time as my contractions so my entire body felt like it was getting squeezed.
