With my 1st when she showed signs of not wanting to wear nappies (one day she pulled her nappy off and said it was making her sore) we tried pull up pants but they didnt exactly work because they draw the wee away from the body she wasn't feeling wet if u know what I mean. So we literally kept her in knickers and she didn't like the feeling of being wet. Within about 3 weeks she was totally dry and also only had knickers at night time with those pads on the bed. We just made sure that we asked her all time if she needed a wee etc and made sure she went just before she went to bed. She was out of nappies around 17 months x
@karla22 yeah I've started doing that so may try to start her properly when she understands wee and poo etc and when she can tell me she's having either. Oh I know I need to stay calm she weed on the floor before but I just said. No wee on the floor bad wee in potty good lol. That's a good idea and fun as well lol I'll just take my time don't dont want to rush her. Xxx
@jadeleannekelly18 they understand more than u think lol. U could try a reward chart etc they do work well for some and others not. Also we would just ask her like every 15/30 mins do u need a wee, do u want to go to the potty. Even if she went and sat on it to try I would look at a book with her or something to take her mind off being on the potty. And whenever she did a wee we would praise her and make a big fuss and be like "yay u did a wee wee! You're such a big girl! Let's go and flush it down the toilet". I would let her hold the potty with me aswell, she looked so proud when she used to do a wee in the end 😂 got it all to come again haha. With poos though she was more comfortable doing it on the toilet on one of those seats. She never once weed or pood on the floor though, so lucky I know! Xx
@karla22 yeah that's true I'm gonna try get her some potty training knickers to wear and you can get like pads for inside the normal knickers incase of accidents just be looking. She doesn't really show interest in the potty or anything though lol she keeps saying no lol. That's a good idea to do things whilst she on the potty though lol. Yeah I'd do all that when she eventually does it haha just can't get her to take interest in the potty so I'm struggling abit. Yeah I've sat my little girl on the toilet I think she preferred it but gonna just have to take it as it comes dont want to rush her incase she loses interest and becomes scared to do it. Well that's brill but I don't have that luck lol she keeps weeing in the floor lol. Xx
Just where to start? How to make it less stressful and more fun etc she needs to be dry by January cos she's starting school so need to start soon incase she does take abit time to feel confident. Xx
@mrsmowmow ooh I will look into getting that book :). You mean no trousers or nappy? Yeah she's done that when I've tried it before lol weed everywhere but guess you just have to get there but like I don't want her pooing all over the floor lol. Yeah I will try just feel like it's gonna be very hard D: xx
Yeah I think I'll try her but am I not rushing her cos obviously she doesn't tell me if she needs a wee or anything. Did you have to change her a few times? Til she obviously got used to staying dry what about pooing? I'll have to get some don't have any so will look into it. Yeah I hope I can definitely get her sorted by summer cos I'm sure it's very uncomfortable being in nappies all the time. So I'm gonna start today but where do I start? Xx
