At the grocery store today I was talking to my favorite cashier about my probable C-Section when this mom in line behind me chimes in. She says that she had a vaginal birth and then a C-section and proceeded to tell me how awful it was. She went on about how I should avoid one, that its so painful and so horrible, how she was laid up for a month, how she couldn't do anything and so on. I was like yeah thanks for the pep talk considering its pretty sure I'm having one. Smh. 🤦♀️

It’s really not that bad. I had mine on Tuesday and I feel good, you’re going to be sore for a while but that’s not bad . I wasn’t even on pain meds besides Motrin a few time . You will be limited but your able to do stuff

Some csections ARE awful especially when they are an emergency. She was likely just being brutally honest which likely wasn’t what you needed to hear hun. Mine was very traumatic but I’d not purposely scare someone with the details lol Mine was an emergency csection and went wrong which is a WORST CASE. As an L&D nurse I can say most are routine and go smoothly ❤️

Talk about a drama queen! I've had 3 and I was NEVER laid up for a month, even tho one of mine was an emergency. You'll be sore, no doubt, but each day you'll start feeling better.

It's different for everyone. I was back at work in weeks after my c section with ds3. She was probably just sharing her experience with you. NBD. Hopefully your delivery goes smoothly.

ive had 2 c sections and they honestly werent that bad. yes you have to rest a bit more. its major surgery. but as long as i wore my belly band and took my pain meds when needed i was good. the worse thing i ran into is that i needed to pace myself being physically active due to my incision. but with a bit of help from my husband and brother in law things ran smoothly.

I had 3 csection my first was a emergency, its painful but i was walking on like the 3 day it all depends how well you take care of yourself.

People always wanna tell you their horror stories bc somehow it's a badge of honor or some perverted way of creating a mom hierarchy based on amount of pain you endured 🤦♀️ my advice? Don't listen to anyone. My c-section was smooth, the labor was rough (as it is for most everyone), and recovery was as expected after an abdominal surgery that removed an 8 lb baby. Did I prefer my VBAC? Yes. Would I go through another c-section if the result was a healthy baby? YES.
