I need some opinions and information please. I first had a faint positive 2/13 I posted photos of my test and I got a yes+ I think it was 2/16 also did a post about that. Well I took another test this morning and it looked negative, barely a faint line. All tests have been first response. I heard of the “hook affect” so I diluted my urine a little bit and still nothing so that’s not the case. Any experience with this anyone?? I messaged my doctor after my positive result and she ordered a blood test to see what my levels are at, I’ll be going in Monday. I’m just so confused. Never had this happen before.
have any of the tests been a solid 2 lines? id get a dr appointment and maybe retest in 2 days.
Not a thick solid line but a visible line with my first as I previously posted but I also got a first response “Yes+” 2 days after my first test. I had spotting 1/18-1/20 so maybe that’s when the chemical pregnancy started. Idk. I’m hoping the blood test will help explain more.
Hook effect is when you have a lot of hcg in your system. My tests had it, but I still could see it.
Thank you for sharing your experience with that. I just felt like I needed to rule it out as a possibility. I was kind of hoping that would have been the case with me. I don’t think it is though. Mine points more towards a chemical pregnancy like pp mentioned in a previous comment :( I’ve had a miscarriage before and it was terrible. Even though it was just over a year ago it still is hard to deal with. I hope the blood test comes back normal though. I don’t want to go through losing another baby.
I read a little on it and just wanted to see if that was a possibility to explain why I’m getting negatives now.
I hope not :( I haven’t noticed any blood or tissue passing though. I guess I’ll know for sure Monday when I do a blood test. How can my doctor tell if I’ve had a chemical pregnancy?
Only one test was diluted though to just see if the hook affect was what’s going on. I’ve taken 3 that we’re not diluted and looked negative. That’s why I’m confused.
@busymom_lovinlife diluted urine can happen of you pee often without a hold. Like if it wasn't fmu.
Did you do them with fmu?
I’d try a different brand of test. First Response does have indents at times and the digitals have given multiple people I know false positives. Good luck!
