What's a good age to start letting your toddler wash up on there own?
We don't know yet. Stubborn baby at our last appointment :/
@jilian yes that's how my daughter was before we found out what she was
My son only put up a little fight but this one squeezed it's legs folded underneath it's bottom so now we have to wait 4 more weeks for the anatomy scan.
I Think Pretty Much Whenever They Can Do it .
I've Been Giving my Little one The Soap For a few Months Noww He'll Just Rub it on his belly , Maybe 1 arm An Be Done lol .
an I Have to finish Him Off tho Bt He's Learning . 💙
My daughter washes herself during baths. I just sit there and pour water on her. She knows how to put shampoo on her hair and soap on her wash cloth. Then i help her by telling her which body part to wash. She knows where her arms, elbows, hands, neck, chest, belly, back, bump,private part, thighs, knees, calves, and feet. 🤣 Before she gets out, i usually do a quick scrub just to make sure shes nice and clean, lol. But i think she enjoys it more doing it herself. Im slowly teaching her to lotion herself but she doesnt quite get the hang of it just yet.
@athenia823, she’s 19 months.
@rndmshtt awe you started letting her get the hang of it early
@athenia823, Hehe yeah. We just kind of make like daily routines a “ lesson “ kind of thing but like in a fun way where shes learning but enjoying it. You just have to be consistent about it. Right now we are trying to teach her manners like saying hello, please, thank you, excuse me, sorry, and to give hugs when saying goodbye😅
@doubleksmommy @icebergahead no always supervised...just so he can get used to doing it himself..
Yeah he can start practicing washing himself. He'd probably like to
@icebergahead okay cool just want to kind of get a idea when I should start letting De'Marco wash himself
@doubleksmommy yes I think he would to
Unsupervised? I stick around while dd showers. I can not walk away or go to another room, just incase.
My daughter only took bathes til she was like 5 or 6. Then she slowly started to shower with me til she got use to them, then she'd shower by herself around 7/8. Idk if that even answered your question tho lol. She soap down in the bath herself tho around 4...supervised
Ps- I love listening to him shower because he sings his ABCs and I think it’s adorable 😂
@doubleksmommy, we got the suction cup shower head holder so it’s on his level and it made a world of difference.
@katiemwebb07 oh I never heard of that. I have to try that with my toddler soon
@doubleksmommy, this is similar to what we use and he seems to be so much happier taking a shower now

Our 3 year old takes a shower by himself. I’m normal just in the bedroom folding laundry so I can still hear everything and when he says he is done I sit do a quick once over to make sure he got everything.
@icebergahead at age 3 yes
Yes LOL he was a big bathtub splasher and he was flooding our bathroom so we had to switch him to a shower about 6 months ago and he took to it really well! It’s so much easier now and less of a mess to clean up.
As in bathe alone? Or just wash themselves while you supervise?
Basically washing himself alone while I supervise
@athenia823 my 2 yr old washes himself with supervision and instruction from me. I do his hair though.
I just started letting my 5 yr old have a little unsupervised time, but I am right there and the door is open. I still go in to do his hair and supervise washing up.
My 3 year old some times washes himself, but I don't expect much of it so he doesn't do a great job yet. He's more interested in playing and washing what ever random toy he brings in so I just do it quick at the end. When I'm really lazy I put him in the shower with me and he gets to play while I clean myself then he helps me clean himself.
