Do y’all ever feel like people treat you differently because of the way you dress and your religion ?

Because i deff felt that way too many times unfortunately .. and everyone thinks I’m nuts .

When People ask where I born and I say Israel they look at me like I am from another planet..Raised in ny,nj but ,,being in Miami many think I look arab,Spanish, Italian and when I say no I am. Jewish they drop their mouth's..i think people in south to me seem more ignorant about dif cultures, religion..i am not religious .I dress normal.i was in an elevator 1 time and a lady was speaking in Hebrew about me.she didn't know I spoke Hebrew hahah...as well..i think in Miami people assume anyone with black hair is Spanish and when I say I only speak a little Spanish I'll get looks also..**glad to look mysterious** I have friends in all religions ;)

@mommawildflower, @lifewithlynnieandwill88, @amberdaugherty, we only wear skirts or dresses that cover the kneee , i wear black tights in the winter and nude color in the summer . My sleeves are always covering my elbow and my collar bone . I cover my hair as well .... it’s obvious I’m an Orthodox Jew lol specially in NY where everyone knows what that is

Oh okay I’ve been around and have friends with different religious views and I also just try to educate myself more about the religion. People are honestly just ignorant

How do you dress I’m very curious because I’m Pentecostal so I wear skirts and dresses a lot (but I also wear pants as long as they’re modest) and my own family has treated me differently they think that just because I’m Pentecostal I’ll end up like the Duggars and the Bates and have 19 to 20 children lol (the Bates are nice people we actually know them my husband has worked with Zach and my father inlaw has worked with Gil and they’ve invited us to church a few times so they’re genuinely good people) the Duggars and the Bates aren’t even Pentecostal they’re Baptist I’m pretty sure so I don’t understand how wearing skirts and dresses automatically means that I’m gonna have 20 children 😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️ they also treat me as if I’m stupid and anytime I get around them they bring up religion and pretty much as how I believe is stupid and how I don’t always have to do everything my husband tells me because for some reason they think that my husband controls everything that do which he does I make my own choices and do what I want but my family does treat me really different.

I'm wondering the same. How do you dress? I dress differently, as a pentecostal. I wear skirts or dresses only (knee length or longer) & I don't wear makeup, wear jewelry or cut my hair. I get looks but not anything bad...I'm sorry you're dealing with this, not nice!!

I'm Muslim and I wear the hijab. I was born and raised in Jersey and I never felt discriminated against. But I also lived in a very diverse town. Thankfully I never experienced any discrimination.

I’m sorry you have dealt with stuff like that. I find it interesting to learn about other religions and other cultures dress. I’m new to religion it’s only been in my life for about 13 years and I’m still learning about the catholic ways.
