Can anyone explain Cord blood storage? Pros/ cons? Worth it or not? Average costs? I did my pre registration paperwork at the hospital today and the nurse asked if I had planned to participate. I have only seen a few ads on Facebook for it- and since I haven’t heard anyone else ever even mention it, I didn’t really even take it into consideration. She said it’s becoming very popular and is valuable, but I would have to do my own research to decide if it’s right for me.
That's so weird that she told you that. We donated my son's cord blood through Be The Match, it was free to donate and used to help patients with all kinds of blood diseases (leukemia, lymphoma, etc.). It doesn't need to be a sibling, just someone who is a match.
I would be livid! What’s the point?! Were you able to be reimbursed?
We did it and paid a hefty fee...to be told by the company a year later they had lost our sample. Was irritating for sure.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
I asked my midwife about donating chord blood but apparently I’d have to pay thousands to donate it to someone. She said when they store it it’s only to use for future siblings if they need the stem cells and seeing how expensive it was and that I’m not having anymore kids I didn’t think it was worth it
