I couldn’t breast feed for long 😢 but I bought bottles, pump, breast pads, storage bags, nipple shields, nipple cream, nursing bra, nursing pillow x

I'd recommend getting a breast pump, the medela swing is good and affordable. You'll need breast pads, nipple cream and nursing bras. I wouldn't bother with nursing clothes, just wear a vest top underneath a regular top :)

I wouldn't bother with the bottles just yet, you aren't meant to introduce them until 6 weeks, it can mess with your supply. If you are going to get bottles then the MAM self sterilising ones are good.

Also it's tempting to have a box of formula in the cupboard 'just in case' but I wouldn't recommend it, you're much less likely to quit if it's not there :)

I never bought bottles or formula as thought it saves the temptation to use it.

Get a good nipple cream and apply religiously for the first week at least! Medela swing pump is good! However I struggled to pump anything so never bothered expressing.

My little boy never took to a bottle so I never had to wean him off them, I fed him for 15 months until he decided to stop.

I also bought Milton tablets and a cold water steriliser just in case and used it for some things mainly the Milton for cleaning and soaking stained clothes in 😂

If you have Facebook there is a group called can I breastfeed in it UK it’s helpful finding normal clothes that are easily accessible! I just layered up a vest and done one up one down.

Breast pads I stole a few from friends to try first as I have bad allergies to some brands of sanitary towels (ouch) the johnsons worked best for me, I never needed a lot of them as I rarely leaked after the first month.
